My daughter is in the hospital, since 2 yesterday afternoon. They're still not sure if it's appendicitis or what it is. CT scans showed nothing one way or the other. I'm headed back there now but would appreciate a few good thoughts that they figure out what it is. Stomach/abdomen problems off and on for a few months and then it hit like classic signs of appendicitis but blood tests etc. don't seem to agree and the scan didn't really show them anything. So they're confused for right now

Oh my, I thank you all so very much.
Here's what's happening for now. They did an arthroscopic surgery this morning to see what they could find out and go ahead and take the appendix out anyway since they were in there basically. And no it wasn't appendicitis. While in there peaking about they found that her intestines are not situated like most people, where there is a "normal" pattern the way it is situated and it's not connected to the normal spots that keep it from moving around. So they are going to let her recover a couple days or so from this morning's surgery and go in again and arrange and attach the intestine's across the abdomen in such a way that they still won't be normal but so that they won't become twisted etc causing further problems later. Now, what is causing the pain.......they still don't really know since the intestine's weren't twisted in there right now according to the surgeon that did the appendectomy, but they moved her today to a different hospital (further away) where the surgeon there is supposed to be a top notch pediatric surgeon. So I'll be doing some driving back and forth every day for about another week and hopefully get some more answers about the original pain before it's over and done. I'm tired and hungry but wanted to post up what's happening, then it's late dinner and bedtime for me. Thanks again....cause I do know that prayers and positive thoughts really do help..... |
