Yup! The title is correct . . . this topic is about toilet paper and the use of it. Now as you all have kids, I'm hoping that my child isn't the only one who seems to think there is an endless supply of toilet paper in the world. Now, when Kai goes #1 she tends to use a handful (her handful that is) and she wads it up in a ball. I have to constantly tell her that she needs to just roll it or something but . . . she insists that its the right way.

Also, which way are suppose to tell your kids to wipe (girls)? I tell her from front to back cause that's just how to do it. My dad tells her, even when she just goes #1, to wipe back to front. This can get messy when there's a #2. Maybe this is all in preference.

But this also brings me to my stepmom (jokingly or not) who insists that girls only need 3 squares for #1 and 5 squares for #2. LOL I think she's crazy.

I realize this isn't the cleanest topic (haha) but seriously . . . I now go through so much toilet paper its ridiculous! Anyone else have this problem?

I'm pretty sure that girls are supposed to wipe front to back to avoid any problems. As for how many squares....well when you figure that one out let me know so I can tell the 3 monsters at my houseSmiler

Only you could bring us such a great topic my dear.....

for girls it's always front to back from what i've been taught and how I've taught Hannah....
As far as amount I don't get too bent our of shape unless she really stuffs the bowl.....
Breaking it down to X number of squares seems a little weird to me....

ok, well, you started it....
front to back for sure. but, where do you put your arm/hand? i was taught you put your hand behind your back and reach forward, then wipe front to back.
in the movie 'eyes wide shut' they show nicole kidman on the toilet and she wipes front to back, but her hand goes between her legs in the front and she reached back.
so i guess nicole's was more of a push than a pull for lack of a better visual.
which do you do/teach?

If you think you can, or you think you cant - you are right.

It is front to back!!! Girls get bad infections the other way. My daughter has always been prone to infections really easy. This is off the subject (kind a) but I heard that if your daughter (or yourself) gets a yeast infection, turn the blow dryer on (down there) and it will stop the itching (make sure not to burn her). I tried it and it really does work. I wish I would have known that a while ago!! Smiler

Yep, front to back to avoid UTI's.
My little girl uses TONS of toilet paper and I cannot get her to stop. She does not roll it. She is scared she will get "something" on her hands and thus covers her hands until she feels "safe." I buy cheap toilet paper for her, and soft stuff for me that I put away. Lol. I guess that makes me a mean mom!

BTW: counting squares is way to obsessive compulsive to me.

Front to back definitely. Seconding the flushable wipes too, but still keep plenty toilet paper around no matter what, unless you can be there every time she goes poo.

May I add a question, at what age did you all stop wiping your children for #2?

Smiler You're funny. I think I stopped wiping at like age 4 maybe. I know I had to make sure she would wipe good before I didn't "check". Even when she was wiping, I would make sure some times. You know what, my daughter is 8 and I still find skid marks in her underwear sometimes.hahaha What do ya do? Smiler

I still check her and she's almost 4. She usually does the wiping.

She is definitely getting a little too much TP and I do keep the wipes around. She likes them. They are Kandoo wipes and she also has her own hand soap with the little green frog on the front. I think by making those "hers" she is more apt to wipe in the first place.
