I told myself that I would not get Kai's ears pierced until she was old enough to take care of them herself and when I didn't have to worry about her yanking them out.

Well Saturday . . . I got her ears pierced. I explained to her that it would hurt a little when they went in but then would be fine. SHE DIDN"T EVEN CRY! Not one tear. She just wanted to see in the mirror. So my little baby is 3 years old and has her ears pierced.

I will post a pic when I can download it. She has little pink flowers in. Right about the time we go to Disney we should be able to take them out and put other ones in that can match her outfits everyday (her preference btw)

Hello! I have a four year old that I had the same idea about piercing her ears when she could take care of them herself- BUT I also gave in and got them done she did love them but just a word to the wise, when you do switch them make sure they are screw backs or just really hard to get off because the first day we changed them after 3 months the new earring fell out ( or was pulled- it's a mystery Smiler )and by the time I noticed it the next day her hole had closed...I just wish it was still the eighties and she could wear just one earring

That is so nice. I had my daughters ear's done as soon as the Dr. gave the ok. She was under a year old. With her personaility I am glad I did. I know if I tried to do it when she got older she would not leave them a lone. I cannot get her to keep a hat or necklace or anything else on. I know earings would have been a lot of fun lol.

Good for you and your little girl. I cannot wait to see the pictures.

Yeah, this is Amy, not Dale! Molly and I have piercing studs that we use for every day wear. And the cleaning thing, well, daddy has these two little containers with screw on lids that he uses to keep our earrings clean. Before the earrings stopped coming out with a whole bunch of crud on them, he had one with peroxide that he put the earrings in after they'd just come out of our ears. Then he would put them in the other jar with rubbing alcohol in it. WARNING: Keep out of reach of children! Very dangerous! And Molly and I have had our ears pierced since we were like, 6 months old, I think! But, anyway, we change our earrings every time we take a bath. For me, that's every Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday. For Molly, it's every Saturday, Tuesday, and Thursday. We stopped putting them in peroxide because they stopped coming out of our ears with a whole bunch of crud on them! And when we finally put them in our ears after our baths, we stick the stem of the thing into a tube of either triple antibiotic ointment or Hydrocortisone ointment. Recently, we have been putting them in the hydrocortisone. And if you need any more help with earrings and that kind of stuff, I'm an expertise at it!

Sorry if I'm out of the loop but who is "AMY"? lol

Bamy, Yes I know that you were expecting the thread to go down another road but hey, you would have been the first to know if I got something pierced. LOL

Kai is doing great with the ears. They are not sticking or anything and her ears are not red. This is a good sign. She understands why they have to be cleaned. She also picked out some heart earrings in assorted colors and flowers so that she can have a variety when we can finally change them out.

This is such a big step for me with Kai.

And no surprise here, the wicked stepmonster is not happy about it. LMAO

I know in Spain they pierce girls´ ears within a few days of birth (in the hospital, I do believe).

They use only little gold hoop earrings cos they are hygienic.
No silver or any other metal, also no backs.

I got my daughter's ears pierced at 4 months old. My doctor did it. She didn't cry, just looked at me like "what the heck was that?"! I tried hoops in her but they got stuck on stuff and pulled out. She has never bothered them or touched them. I keep diamonds in her now....they have screws as backings so they don't fall out.

Well now, my 16 soon to be 17 year old gets any more studs in her head she will look like the guy from the movie "H@llraiser". Even I have a earring, teach me to drink and go to the piercing shop with my girl. Roll Eyes

Never take someone for granted. Hold every person close to your heart because you might wake up one day and realize that you've lost a diamond while you were too busy collecting stones...

The belly takes a **** of a long time to heal, and my girl seems to allways catch it on something.

Only good thing happening is my girl now does most of her own piercings, she wants to do it for a living one day which saves me on money, well if you don't count paying for the studs. Roll Eyes

I had my belly pierced (until I got prego) and it DID take a long time to stop hurting. It was cute though.

Wow, she does her OWN piercings!?!? Impressive!!

She actually took the time to learn things about it, some piercings she won't do because she doesn't have the experiance and the can cause nerve damage. There is no class to learn how to do it here, so they apprentice to a shop, but she can't do that tell she is 18.

Smshy I'm sure she looks adorable. Both of my nieces had to wait until they were 8...Dad's rules. If I had a little girl I'd so have her little ears pierced when she was old enough.

I had my tongue and navel pierced but had to take them out when I joined the military (silly rules). I'd do it again if I could though.
