I'm new to this site. I was so excited to see a single parent of twins topic. It's been hard to find other single parents of twins. I have fraternal 3 year old twin girls named Amber & Ashley. I filed for divorce when they were 2 weeks old. Their father started drinking again and I didn't want to raise my daughters letting them think that it was ok to let someone treat them the way their father treated me. It's sad it took me having kids to realize that. Their father went back to Canada (I'm in Colorado) and he only sees the girls a few weekends a year. He can only have supervised visits, so everytime he comes to visit the girls, I have to be around him also.

It's been hard being a single parent 24/7. I never get a break or any time for myself. I love my girls, but it's been a hard adjustment for me. I would like to start dating and doing something for myself, but I feel I need to put the girls first and spend all my free time with them.

I never have any money. The cost of daycare is terrible. But somehow I find the money to put them in a good place. I'm sad I can't give my girls the kind of life I grew up with.

I would like to get re-married to give them a father image to grow up with, but I'm not sure I can trust anyone very much after everything my ex did. And I don't ever want to settle for anyone.

Anyway...just wanted to vent.

Happy you found the site! I have fraternal twins, although mine are boy/girl. They are 6.
