Hi all,

I am new at this site. I want to get some feedbacks from anyone out there since being a single parent is something that most people have to understand when they are in similar situations. Most of my friends are married and I am the only one who is not and have a kid. I have a sone who is in the 1st grade and lately he's been having issues as far as his behavior in school. He's been hugging and kissing at school or should I say "unwanted affection" as describe by his teacher. Should I be concern about this or this will pass through? Is my kid normal? Is he acting out b/c his father is not involved? Any replies are very much appreciated. Thanks.

If everything else with his behavior, emotional state ect.. is normal, than yes your son is perfectly normal. Some children are just naturally loving--and it is an attestment to the loving environment that he feels at home. Unfortunately, we are in a day and age when this is not considered appropriate in a school setting. You don't want to squelch his loving nature but he will have to learn what is acceptable in school. At least he is hugging instead of punching other kids.

Thanks for the reply, that makes me feel better. It is hard for me to make him understand that there are unaccepted behaviors in school that he can get into trouble. Thanks again.
