Hello! I am a single mom of 2 WONDERFUL boys ages 11 & 4. My problem is they have different dads...My oldest sons dad is in the picture when its convenient for him (its been better lately) but my youngest sons dad has seen him twice in 4 yrs. Recently Parker (my 4 yr old) has started saying stuff like "when I go to my Parker dads house" or "I got this from my Parker dad"...It breaks my heart!!! I have no idea where this came from, the last time they saw each other is over 3 yrs ago...If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it!

I am sorry that Parker's dad is missing out on so much of Parker's life. It truly is sad that there are fathers out there who do not care for their children and are not mature enough to handle the responsibility. Hope that you stay around for awhile and enjoy the site. I think you will find the people here very helpful. I don't know what to tell ya, my daughter is not old enough to ask about her non existent father. But I am sure someone here has been through this and will help you out.

It maybe that Parker is just trying to be like his older brother. I know it breaks your heart just the same. Be honest with him with as little info as you can. He will start to understand in his own time.
I think these situations are so sad for the kids, but they can be over come.

Hey girl!!

My son's name is Parker but he's 2 1/2 yrs old!!! They also have something in common...My Parker's dad has never seen him though...and recently he has been saying like where my dad? or he'll see a man on TV and say that's my daddy...it really is heart breaking...My heart just stops when he says stuff like..I know he hears children at school talking about their daddy... I wish i had advice for ya as i am going through the same thing...
