Getting My Feet (Board) Wet
Picture of Earthmother
Posted
I am so thankful for all of you who have chosen to remain a part of your children's life. For those of you who are not around your children my heart goes out to you.

I almost never meet single dads, i do have one friend that is a single dad, but he is in nyc. But I am just so appreciative and if I could send Universal Love your way, then Look out, cuz here it comes!

Be strong and of good courage. And one more thing, sometimes, a person cannot treat their children the way the should or for that matter treat another person the way that they should because they are really hurting inside and don't have self-love. we as a people are very emotional and some of us do things to get back at others, to prove points, and for other reasons, i haven't quite figured out. If you can somehow maintain your peace within, you will find ways to handle all situations in more feasible ways. Not getting upset, angry, or whatever the case, so that other person doesn't use that against you to pull your strings.

So tonight, and especially b-cuz i know a lot of women do male-bashing, I am sending a shout out of appreciation and fatherhood. We love you and respect you and just adore you!! I love men!!

Stay true to your fatherhood.

Wow, I am new to this board but this older post was powerful stuff. It is a shame that a few single dads give us a bad rap, as the one Earthmother has to deal with. The majority of men want to be a part of their childrens lives. As a single fulltime father of 3, it is still amazing to have people so surprised that I manage (even after 6 years). I just keep telling them I am going to make a great wife someday!!

I have to say that all you guys on this forum have restored my faith in men. Not to sound male-bashing, but honestly it has taken me a very, very, very long time to come around and see things from a male perspective and realize that all men are not like my ex.

I am truly appreciative of all of you probably more than I could possibly put into words.

I wish I could do more to show you but I want to say "thank you" to all of you for everything...You rock!

Caitlin
