One of the hardest things for me as a single parent is

balancing a work schedule with my son's school schedule.

Finding a job that will provide me with a matching schedule has

been tough. Finding one that is understanding in the matter of

having to miss work to stay home with a sick kid is another

matter as well. I have become very interested in the idea of

working from home. I have found a couple of offers at craigs

list and of course have recieved some offers in the form of

junk mail. The ads are quite vague as to the nature of the work

and require a payment for training materials. I am sure some of

you are familiar with the type of ads I am refering to. the

question is..... has anyone tried them or know of anyone who

has? Are these legitimate businesses or scams? Does anyone work

from home and have advice for me? Any help would be greatly

appreciated. Thanks. -Bob

Hi Arkett,
Yes familiar with those ads...I never actually tried them because of the reputation many of the companies had of not paying what people's efforts are worth...not saying they are all bad companies, but the time invested just investigating them, for the amount of money they may bring in, is not worth it for me. If you have the time to look I can help you brainstorm some ideas of what you can look at in terms of your passions, and turning them into creating income for you. I understand your dilemma of working and attending to your child...it is certainly challenging. The truth is anything you will start from home will take some money to start...what you have to weigh is the risk associated with those companies and there is alot more to know of companies than we think, such as the owners, who runs them, how they are operated, what the average pays are they paid out quarterly, how many people are doing it and how much income they generated. If for example they have 2000 people doing things like that and the average take home pay is 50-100 chances are they have a high attrition rate of people joining and paying the company and not doing very much because the pay is not all that great. So if you would like to brainstorm feel free to contact me at my hotmail addy at singleparent-youthcoach@hotmail.com

Best of luck
Miranda
