I am New to SFV

Hey, My name is Brandon and unfortunately for my ex-girl friend and mother of my two sons I am now a single father. Long story short I am down on my knee asking her to marry me and she says she is done... very hard it has been about a month now and im slowly coming around but i see a long road still awaiting and.

Well this brings me to the reason for my post - going through this struggle has been tough and I have done a lot of thinking and I have an idea Im going to write a book well not a book but more of a collection, a collection of stories, written by myself and all of us single fathers out there. I have not visited a library or bookstore in regards to this issue but Im sure Im not the only great thinker coming up with this idea lol and I don't claim to be but I would just like to put together a collection of stories regarding being a single father I would like to know your opinions or ideas on this topic. I understand the process of releasing a book and I have already begun taking the right steps so I am very intimate about this topic.

I am going to create an email address tomorrow and any single father is welcome to submit there story as of now there is no limit in length but keep in mind I would like to have many stories so Im thinking maybe two pages at most and 1 picture if you choose to include. I will thoroughly read through the stories and choose not the best ones but the ones i feel will grab the attention of everyone else in the world who is not a single father. Anyone can submit a story those who are chosen to be included in the book will sign a waiver granting me all rights to publish the story and retain ownership but you are responsible for what is included in your story I will grant those individuals full credit before and after each story as well as in the forward and final pages of the press the only reason you will sign this waiver is to clear me of any potential copyright infringement, plagiarism, or any thing of that matter, and also because I am not guaranteeing payment in return for these stories I will be putting up the money to release and promote the book starting online and hopefully moving into the "real world" soon after I am a graphic designer ad I will also be designing the cover artwork and gathering all the stories and doing all the foot work and everything else that is involved in this process once I have fully recouped all costs and payment for time invested then I would like to write small checks for all fathers involved but that is not a guarantee only being hopeful of the future. So this will be a great way to vent get some thoughts of your mind, share experience's with the world, give advice, share thoughts and pretty anything else you can think of I want to have a section at the end of the book pages of helpful resources online websites etc. and I am excepting any ideas from everyone everything will be considered

Thank You for reading this and I hope we can pull this off and send a signed copy to our ex wifes or girlfriends as a testament to us moving on with our life's plus it will just be cool to be in a real paperback book.

-Brandon

Perhaps what he is looking for is permission to use the stories, but I suppose without a real name attached to the story you may be able to use it?? Not sure.

I think you may have better luck on facebook, or sites for single fathers if that is your target market. I would suggest single parenting as opposed to limiting it to a male gender, unless there is a specific and unique reason why you are targeting the males.

If your having difficulty finding stories, perhaps you need to have a more specific focus on single fathers as opposed to single fathers in general.

Single fathers is very general and each father has different perspectives on what it is like. Some view it as a bad thing, and remain sorrowful, while others see it as a blessing in disguise and are excited to move on in life.
Some single parents find it hard because of lack of money and think it is single parenting, but it is the lack of money because if they had the money they required, perhaps half of the issues wouldn't be issues.

I don't know just rambling on here to help out.
Since it has only been a month your a single parent, perhaps what your looking for a book to guide "newly single fathers" in dealing with the seperation aspect of it. Perhaps your looking for a guide to healing as a newly seperated person.

Writing a guide for personal change, fullment and discovery for children with dead beat parents. If you as a parent, or the child have a story to share, would love to include it.
