Orson Scott Card is an awesome author, I thoroughly enjoy the books he writes. I think I've read about 80% of everything he has writen.

i think i'm on about 50%. i'm working my way through the alvin journeyman series.

what does he write? i think he's considered sci-fi for the most part, but it's not so...so, isaac asimov. it's a little more toned down. more about human emotions in a sci-fi plot...or something.

Orson Scott Card is a sci-fi/fantasy author he kinda bridges the gap that barely seperates the two areas.

hey, where was I when you posted ??
I thought this was my post at the beginning.
Orson Scott Card ! I believe I read ALL his books except the stuff that has not come out in paperback yet.
I read all his sci fi, the fantasy, the short fiction, and now 'Sarah' and..the other one which is the story of Moses : 'Stone Tables'.
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST. On the same level as ISAAC ASIMOV, definitely.

Card wrote a great alternate reality series called 'Alvin Maker'; the premise being that magic is real and the Native Americans never got pushed any farther west than the Missisipi. Check it out.

I actually got started with some of his Fantasy...I believe it was SONGMASTER.

I always wanted more from then on.

I love even his re-writes of the old Testament. Nothing to do with Sci Fi of course, just novels really. I am waiting impatiently for Rachel & Leah to come out in paperback !

Anne McAfferys "Dragon Riders of Pern" is good also. She has a way of making it real, not spaced out.

I have not read those books since middle school Paul! Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman wrote the DragonLance books and they are good too.
