I've had ultrasounds with my frist son but it was when I was 2months along and when I was seven 1/2 months along. With this one I will be almost four months along. My question is can the doc tell whether it's a boy or girl when I'm only begining my 2nd trimester? I really want to know before the baby is born - it makes is so much eaiser to know ahead of time finically.

So if anyone has had an ultrasound this early in thier prenancy and found out please let me know. Thanks

Generally they do schedule the US when they can tell you the gender.

I believe that's a bit early. But at 5 months they can usually tell.

18-20 weeks is when we usually order ultrasounds. Can usually tell gender at that time. That would be 41/2 to 5 months.

ty blindsky the site did help answer some of my questions. I'm hoping for a girl. When i have it done i'm only going to be about 14wks so I may not know the *** but it will be exciting to finally see the baby. Thanks everyone else for your advice.

I had several ultrasounds with my son because I was a high-risk pregnancy...one at 4-5 weeks, one at 8-9 weeks, and another at 17 weeks. Only at the 17 weeks one could we tell the ***. That put me about what, about 4.5 months?
