I am new and just wanted to say hello... I am 30 years old and 18 weeks pregnant. I have known the "father" for 10 years. He had moved away and we lost touch, but then he moved back and we decided to take it beyond friendship. Almost immediately we started discussing marriage and having a family. Well I got pregnant less than a month after we got together. Time went on.. he promised me the world... then when I was 16 weeks pregnant he broke up with me giving me the "Its not you. Its me. I love you but I am not in love w/you. I dont want to be in a relationship" lines. To me that means there is more to the story that he doesnt want to tell me. He has not once bothered trying to contact me to see how the baby is, but he plays the concerned "father" to everyone else. So now here I am, pregnant, single, feeling everything from hurt to anger to embarrasment and thankful I have such wonderful friends and family to help me get thru this. I have had plenty of well intended advice, but it is all coming from people who have never been in my shoes. I joined this site hoping to interact w/those who are also single, and can relate to what I am going thru.

I think he's gay. hehehe... yeah, ask the others in this forum, maybe they'll say of the same thing about men who do not want to be in a relationship. Razzer

Seriously now... Seems like we have the same story Deter... just different in the details. My son's father didnt really break up with me but he was indifferent throughout my pregnancy, I was the one who decided to formally end things between us.

Things got better after I decided to move on with my life. There was a feeling of freedom, and I can concentrate on my baby even without his jerk of a father. And, my male friends, when they learned I was officially single, started calling me up and asking me out. Although only some of them DID take me out, still it feels great to have that sense of freedom again.

Anyway... good for you that you didnt end up with him. You wouldnt want to have someone as irresponsible as he is to be a father to your child.

Anyway, welcome!! hope to see more of you here. When I went through my pregnancy alone, this forum actually helped keep my sanity. it'll help keep yours too. Smiler

Welcome

Every day is easier than the one before. I know in the long run the baby and I are better off, and we will be okay. I look at it as his loss. I am glad that I found this site!
