I am 1Yoyo. I am so glad I found this site. It seems to be just what I needed as a pick me up considering in about 7 weeks, I will be a new mom!! Yes, single and not where I had hoped to be at age 36, but I am here none the less. I seek advice from those of you who are in my shoes but functioning just fine. I know I will be a great mom, I dont doubt that, but I am single and many nights, quite sad at the situation I am in. If you have great advice for me, I welcome it. I am looking forward to making some new friends!

Yo

Hi Yo,

Welcome to the site, I'm glad you found it too! It has been a great help to me in my pregnancy.

This is my first pregnancy too, so I don't have too much advice yet, but there are alot of really wonderful single parents here that do. For now, my advice for you is to keep visiting, reading and posting.

Hi 1Yoyo,

Advice? hmm....take as much time as you can to relax before the baby comes lol that's the best I can give you Smiler Congradulations on the pregnancy and hope all goes well. I'm a single mom and always have been (my son will be 2 this May) It's tough and everyone on this site will say the same thing I'm sure, but at the same time it's the best experience that you will ever have in your life (becoming a mom) ..I haven't been on this site for too too long but I've come to realize that it's the best place to be to get rid of that "I'm all alone" feeling Smiler There are so many single parents out there who are all going through the same ups and downs. Feel free to PM me any time you need to chat. I'm around pretty much every day. Good luck with the end of your pregnancy and the new life you are bringing to this world.

Wow, great advice already! I am having a boy and what a shock that was! I am from a family of women, and just one male. I so anticipated yet another girl. Everything happens for a reason; heck combing a little girls hair ALWAYS scared me. LOL I will have help during the summer from my mom. I have a close family and gobs of friends. I have a great support system. As far as an epidural, because of medical reasons, I will have to have a c-section and I am told I will need a spinal block. From what I have read and heard, it seems the best thing for me. The thought of squeezing a baby out, scares the heck outta me and I am certain I would have a heart attack or stroke! LOL I will have an ultrasound on April 12th to see how much my son weighs. He wiggles all the time and kicks. He can kick me black and blue, as long as he kicks Smiler . I am excited about seeing him and touching him. Being patient right now is hard. Anyway, I have babbled enough. Thanks again for the great advice, thus far.

Congrats on your coming baby boy! I am 36 weeks along and also having a boy Smiler I don't have too much advice as this is my first baby also. I am sure however that if we all stick together we'll make it through just fine. After all it's an amazing thing we are doing, and we are strong for doing it on our own!!!!!

I hear ya!!! I just spent an hour organizing more baby stuff around my apartment. I feel like I ran a marathon. I envy anyone who doesn't have to work at the end of their pregnancy. It's nice to find someone goin through the same stuff, we must keep in touch Smiler . The preparations do seem never ending, but soon enough we'll be too busy with our boys to think of these things.
