This is my first posting. I have just been reading several of the posts as a visitor, and decided to join. As many have said, it seems like a great place to chat, as I can see many of you have been through or are going through all the things I am. I am 32, single, expecting my first July 9. The father is an old friend...and although he would not have been one of my first choices as the father of my child, well, we have to play the cards we are dealt. He is somewhat supportive, although younger than I and still wants to be the club-hopping 28-year-old guy that he is. I think we have both decided, after 2 attempts, that there is no need to force a relationship based on a child (I don't want to have my parents' marriage). Anyway, he has 3 other kids, by 3 different women, so he is not as into this as I would probably like. So hopefully we can keep it cordial for the sake of the baby. I have ALWAYS wanted to be a mom, so although I am anxious, nervous, scared, alone...I feel, deep down, I can do a good job. Don't want to go on forever, but just want to say thanks for listening, and I am looking forward to chatting with you all!

Welcome to the forum Jen, sounds like congratulations on being a mommy won't be out of line It does sound like something you want. And you're right we don't always have the situation take place as we would rather it to have, but we do the best we can with what we have. Anyway, since you've already been reading some I'm sure you already know there is a great group of people here. Good to see you join in.
