As I mentioned in my first post, the father of the baby is being extremely supportive, yet some friends(one in particular) says to not count on him, and prepare myself to go it alone. I hear that she does not want me to be hurt or disappointed, but right now I really appreciate his help and attention. My gut says that he is to be trusted right now. bnhgal

If he ends up leaving you and not being supportive, regardless of whether you have prepared yourself or not, you will be disappointed and hurt. I am a big fan of being prepared for anything but not trusting him when he has done nothing to cause you to not trust him will only cause damage to a relationship where it is not damaged to begin with.

We all have a choice to trust, and love someone or not. The good part of never trusting or loving someone is that they won't ever hurt us, the bad part is they won't ever love us and we won't love them.
I say if your gut is telling you to trust him, trust him until he gives you reason not to. It sounds like you know him the best.
