I am New to SFV

I am in my 30s, single and 30 weeks pregnant. It has been difficult and also amazing. Throughout my pregnancy, I've been trying to find books and resources (like support groups) that speak to my particular circumstances. Surprisingly, I haven't found much until I ran across this discussion board just now.

Tons of resources for single parenthood, but those on single "pregnanthood" are geared toward adolescents or single women who have chosen to get pregnant.

I was with a man and became pregnant. He left me at 2 1/2 months pregnancy. He's given me some financial support and nothing else (unless you count loads of grief). I'm thrilled to be pregnant and about becoming a mom, but have been overwhelmed plenty too.

Have any of you found any good resources, books which explore pregnancy from this perspective?

Thanks, snglnpreg

Parent on Board

Hello, Welcome and Congratulations! I am in my 30’s as well and my daughter will be 1 on May 15th. Smiler Her father was not involved in the pregnancy nor is he involved now, financially or otherwise. I too spent the greater part of my pregnancy searching for similar resources to no avail; in fact I did not come across this site until Allison was about 3 months old. I am happy to say that I feel pretty lucky to have had a relatively uneventful pregnancy. My greatest disappointment (outside of his absence) is that my hard drive crashed in my computer and I lost all but 2 pictures of my belly (I had been keeping a belly diary). I am sure you will find that this board is a wonderful resource now and after your baby arrives. I will gladly answer any question, give an ear for venting or whatever. I hope to hear more from you soon.

Jenny
