My Rating: 4.5 Stars for just plain, stupid, gutwrenching fun.
First ..here's the Trailer: Hot Rod Next...you need to be prepared to watch this movie. Put your drink down...cigarettes to the side....munchies off the table and out of reach. Sit down, relax and take a deep breath.... Napolean Dynamite, Ricky Bobby....step aside...cause Rod, "HOT ROD" STUNTMAN is here!!  Hot Rod is the story of a young man trying to earn the respect of his "step father" and be a stuntman like his dearly departed father who was tragically killed while performing a stunt and had his handlebars ...well anyway you'll find out. The only way he can earn his "stepfathers respect", is to fight him....I mean really "BEAT HIS A**!" ..ahem..sorry.  Rod has been training for years for this moment to take his stepfather on after countless defeats. Now that he's finally ready...a curve is thrown...his stepfather has developed a heart condition and is near death! Rob must somehow raise money to pay for his stepfathers heart transplant so he can save his life....and Then "BEAT HIS A**!!" ...ahem...sorry again. Watch Rob's efforts to save his stepfather...and his torturous journey through adolescence, and puberty all while being tormented by his ridiculously cute neighbor girl ( the little psycho redhead from "Wedding Crashers" ...yeah her). Fans of Napolean will love it.... Fans of Action will love it.... Fans of Footloose will love it.... Fans of Pain will love it.... Fans of 80's Metal Ballads will love it... Fas of Stupidity will REALLY LOVE it!! Oh...this movie is not for kids under 12, due to subject matter and foul language and some really psycho ideas they might get from the movie.  Oh..and the Extras on the DVD? unrated..so uhm...proceed with caution.  Enjoy.  I'm a man of many mysteries and sides....SO many I'm practically round!! |
