Actually, you know- I thought he rearranged that song too, but it turns out that the lead singer from Sound Garden is the one that came up with that arrangement and has performed it. I had no idea. But, it's okay if you didn't like it and nobody should think you're crazy. We all have different opinions. Smiler You're so funny about Jason. I'm too old to think he's hot, but you're right, he is a cutie pie. He kind of reminds me of John Travolta or something. I didn't think it was quite as bad as Simon did. I really love that song, and I thought he did pretty good, it just wasn't really interesting- because it was predictably sung. I was disappointed with Carly a bit, even though I love her voice, but I felt like it was a bit predictable too. I guess that's why I liked David Cook's song so much. It was so different. I really love Brooke too. Smiler Okay, now we're down to 9! Smiler Now it gets EXCITING!!!! Smiler

I was a little disapointed with Carly too, I really like her. She has an amazing voice and I love listening to her talk, her accent is really cool! I still think Kristy needs to go home, and I think singing the Patriotic ballad is what saved her. I am excited for next week, they are working with Dolly Parton right?
And yeah, I agree Jason is more cute than hot, he has such gorgeous eyes! Wink

Oh yay!!!! Really? I didn't realize they were working with Dolly next week! Smiler I must have missed them saying that! I'm so excited, I love Dolly!

Yeah, I agree. Kristy was totally saved because she sang that song. In my opinion, she should definitely be the next one sent home, and then...Ramielle. I know she's a cutie and everything, but I don't think she's as good as the rest of them. And then...I think they should send home that gorgeous Austrailian guy (because I don't think his singing is all that great) and then Syesha Mercado.

I like Carly's accent too. I can't believe how much she looks like her mom! Oh I can't WAIT until Tuesday! Smiler

OH man....last night sucked! ( Confused Can I say that?) David Cooke (my hero) was oddly horrible (in my opinion) last night and Kristie Lee was somehow (miraculously) NOT horrible. What happened? Was there a full moon last night? Hmmmm....Well, I haven't watched the results show yet...I'm saving that one for my morning coffee tomorrow. I really wasn't impressed with anyone last night...well, except for maybe Brooke. She's exceptionally good and so modest. Well, we'll see! Smiler

I agree they did **** last night! I thought Brooke looked really uncomfortable, deffinatly not her best performance! And yeah, David Cooke didn't do to well either, but I thought Jason did AMAZING!! I love that version of the song and he did so good! I am excited for the elimination tonight, but I have a feeling it will be Brooke, and I like her!

Hey what happened last night? My stupid DVR (okay, it was me that was stupid) didn't record it because it wasn't at the top of the "priority" list on the recorder. Technology...
Anyway, did anyone go home? --Or were they merciful because it was "Idol Gives Back" week?
Okay, so to answer your question Kayley's Mommy, I think there are favorites and I don't think that they change too much. Simon is pretty obvious in not liking Kristie Lee (even though he complimented her this week) and not caring for David Cook's "pompous" attitude. He thinks that he's arrogant (he kind of is, but he really is good--uh, except for this week) Simon really likes Brooke and he likes Carly too and I'm not too sure how he feels about the guys. Randy likes David Cook and Syesha Mercado. Paula loves everyone, but I think she is partial to the underdog Kristie Lee and Jason and little David. Anyway, I could be off on that, but that's my take. I understand what you mean about Simon being hard to watch sometimes (he's pretty brutal) but if I mute the tv, I can watch Simon all day long... Smiler

4strong, you are right. Jason did do amazing, I forgot all about him because I'm such a Brooke and David Cooke fan. I was SO disappointed with David Cooke last night that I think that's all I could remember-how terrible I thought his performance was. I think that if elimination didn't happen last night, then Brooke has another good shot at making it through. Here's how I want it to go down:

1)Kristie Lee gone next week
2)Syesha Mercado gone the following week
3)Then the Austrailian guy (even though he's a hunk)
4)Little David
5)Jason (sorry)
6)Carly
7)And Brooke and David Cook are final two.

We'll see. Kristie Lee is a step up from Sanjaya, but I really do think she's a karaoke-style singer and is not in league with the rest of them. As Simon would say..."Sorry!" Smiler Okay, now we have to wait 'til next week!

The Australian guy went home last night! It was him, Carly and Syesha in the bottom and you could tell Carly though she would be going home. They are calling it "the big upset" cause he had never even been in the bottom before, it was kinda sad! Red Face I don't really like the little David but I have a feeling that he will go to the end, I'm not sure who with though. I LOVE Brooke and Jason but I don't think either of them will make it 'til the end. This has been a really good season!

Wow! This really is a good season! I'm feeling kind of mean right now because I know that Kristie Lee did kind of okay this week and maybe even last week, but man, I'm glad it was her. I know what you mean about little David Archaletta (sp?). He' okay, but he's not great. He'll probably be good singing Christian-style music, but pop music I'm not so sure. I LOOOOVVVVVVEEEEE David Cooke. I am just SO impressed with him and I am more and more so every week....well, except for last week. I'm also so glad that Brooke is safe. Your favorite Jason, is really growing on me too. He has kind of a reggae style and I really like it. It's really beautiful music. I hope he makes it far too. Syesha will probably go next. I just don't think that Carly and Brooke are ready to go home yet and I am pretty sure that DC is going to win the competition. So...I hope that Brooke, David Cooke, Jason, and Carly are top 4. We'll see.... Smiler What did you think this week?

I was actually impressed with David Cooke this week and I usually don't like him! I think the guys did way better this week, I liked Jason too and little David did good, but I am just not really feelin' him. I don't think he would make it in Pop music, he is more along the lines of Josh Groban type music. I was really glad KLC went home she had been doing better, but she still wasn't up there with the other contestants. Brooke will probably be next, and I really hope Carly stays around cause I really like her!!

Kayley's mommy, how was "The Biggest Loser" this season? Looks like a great show! Definitely watch American Idol next week, it's getting really good now. Anybody hear who the singer/songwriter is going to be next week?

4Strong, I totally agree with you. Little David is totally Josh Groban style. That's EXACTLY who he reminds me of in his style of music, I just couldn't place it. I like Carly too, but I hope that she and Brooke both stay for a while. I think Syesha is doing better, but I just don't think she sounds original. She seems to just try to mimic whoever the artist is that she's singing with very little variation. David Cooke is cocky, I totally know he is. It does annoy me when he comes out during the results show and hangs his head with false modesty, but he really has a great voice...it reminds me of...is it Lifehouse? Yeah, I think that's it. He has a super sexy voice, well at least I think so anyway. What did you think of Simon on the results show saying that the first album he bought was Paula Abdul's "Straight Up." LOL...what is up with those two? I sware they have some kind of polar magnetism going on. That Simon...he's a hunk. Wink

Syesha was really in her element tonight. She's not my favorite on there, but tonight she stole the show.

Yep, Carly is one of my favorites....her and David Cook. I'd like to see one of those two win it. Little David has a great voice.....but he just bores me.

Ok I love Jason and Brooke, but OMG that was horrible!! I can't believe Carly got sent home! She did so good this week! It really should have been Brooke, she has not been doing real good for awhile now! I didn't really like anybody this week, the theme was wierd, but Carly was one of the bestMad

Totally in agreeance. Yeah...not such a good week. I absolutely hated Broadway week. What were they thinking? Andrew Lloyd Webber?

I was totally hoping that David Cooke would shake things up, but I guess he was trying to merit himself on versatality. Anyway, I think it's okay that Brooke dropped her lyrics in the beginning. She's only human and they must be under pressure right now that we can never imagine. Other than that, you have to take fan-base into the equation when you are trying to figure out why some people get voted out when they just had a great night, while others had a horrible night, but are still there. Carly is beautiful, sweet and very personable, BUT what genre does she fit into that a huge bulk of people are still listening to? You can pretty much classify all of the singers to some kind of musical genre, except for her...

1)David Cooke - pop (Lifehouse style music)
2)David Archaletta - Josh Groban style (thanks 4-strong)
3)Jason - reggae style
4)Brooke White- country/folk
5)Syesha - R&B style pop

So every one of them have a style. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved Carly. I think, though, that she really didn't define herself with a style - except maybe hard rock that might fit better into an Evanescence band-style, than solo performance. That's just my take on it, though.

Anyway, this was a stupid week. I didn't like this week at all. I hope next week they can do something a lot better. Anything...really. Okay, I'm at school and some dude is waiting for the computer as I go on and on about American Idol.... Wink Have a fun day guys!
