I work in Beverly Hills and live in Studio City (San Fernando Vally - SFV, lol) and tried to find a pretty picture online since all I see too & from work and out the window is traffic and basically that was all I found. Soo soo sad.

When I was a teenager my mom would "tax" me 10cents everytime I used the word "like" in the incorrect context. Every day almost after school I would get up to $3+ easily just telling her about my day.

My allowance at the end of the week usually ended with me owing her $, it sucked.

It's funny (and sad) but even as an adult although i don't use the word "like" anymore I still have that Valley Girl inflection in my voice (which my bf tells me can be very annoying but cute - my guess is more annoying to those I am not *******, LOL).

What I wonder is when my daughter starts in with the Valley Girl talk if I will find it annoying, or if I will just understand her, lol.

My mom was not raised here so it still bugs her to death ...

I lived in SoCal a couple of different times in the '70's and '80's (yeah, revealing my age demographic), San Diego area, and although I heard some girls talk that way I suspect they were, like, totally from Mission Valley, not San Fernando; which is, like, the REAL valley. Like barf me out...
