Thank you for the compliments guys...I try...
Although she is a tomboy for the most part it's very important for her that she looks pretty & girlie..if that makes sense
Somtimes I wonder if I'm able to do enough in the girlie dept for her so doing the hair good is important to me as I think it gives me something to do for her that is girlish.

The kind of putz I am is that I didn't even know what the heck a french braid was until now....
I found a very good instructional vid on youtube showing how to do it so today or tomorrow we're going to try it...
It doesn't look too hard really but fat little uncordinated fingers don't help...
I hope I can get it though cuz this braid will keep her hair on top from sticking up all over the place....

Cap't....I'm with ya on the braids Binta gets...I can't do it and fact is I don't want them. Every kid and even the adults on this island do their hair that way so I want something different. I do photos for a couple of the braiders here and they are always wanting to do her hair but I won't let them. Hannah's hair is soft but very curly and i use a comb as a brush would frizz it out too bad and screaming...oh welcome to our mornings...yikes...Fact one of my neighbors told me she always knows when I'm doing her hair cuz she can hear her screaming at me...If I don't keep it conditioned and tied tight man it gets snarled and look out she's mean....so I try to condition it several times a day.

Pann.....Prom...???? oh man slow down will ya....she won't be going to prom anyway cuz daddy's rule is that she can't leave the house or date until she is 30....and then only if I'm restained to a wheelchair.

Tessy...HA...you think I don't get my hair done already...last week one night I had every clip and bow she owns attached to my head...now she's insisting that i grow a beard so she can do that too....no picutres please...HA...

Wow, HB, you are quite the hairdresser there!! Big Grin
Hannah looks gorgeous!

And so does Binta!

I guess I am lucky to have a son, who also has more my hair (european) than his father's (african), he has more ringlets-type hair and I never have to do anything with it (well, obviously not at the age of 16!!). He just leaves it in a mess Big Grin

O.K. After a couple trial runs this weekend we decided to try the french braid again today.
It's not tight enough and a little akward but I really like her hair this way...
Guess I'll have to keep practicing cuz this looks sloppy & wierd...but I'm getting there...
Didn't keep her from being a ham though...
