Coping mechanisms? Its a rough one for me....

Hey don't let it get you down...I know easier said than done...
I actually proposed to Hannah's Mom on valentines day...
Then 5 days later on the 19th she came over and did one of those home pregnancty tests and BINGO...pregnant
That ended the relationship as that's all she wanted....get pregnant and have a cute little white baby...
I refuse to be angry anymore...just aint worth it...
Besides....I got my Sweet valentine and she's all snuggled up in my bed right now...

Cheer Up...It's just another day.....

I've spent nearly every V-Day alone with my kids so .....I don't know why I still have such a bothersome time with it.

It wasn't New Years yet and the stores had V-DAY plush dolls up and down the aisles. You get a month and a half of torturous reminders everywhere you go.

I just simply want to find a few techniques others use to get past it or through it.

I know what you mean...
In all honesty it does bother me but because of my wife and daughter that I lost and not Hannah's mom...
In this case I just block it out....well try anyway...
And Hannah has helped cure a lot of pain...
I just look at her and figure everything is new..

Hey Sky I know that it sucks to be alone but really you're not. I always go out and buy my kids some Valentine treats and it helps because at least I have them to celebrate with. Because they are my Valentines this year.
Last year I got them some singing bears (I don't suggest you buy them, ugh they still play them) but I'm not sure how depressed you get but I'm would hope that going out and buying Valentines stuff for your kids would make you a little happier. It always does for me!!

I know exactly how your feeling..last year was the firts time since I was a kid that I was without someone special to be my Valentine (besides the kids). Honestly it was hard. I can live without the candy, the flowers ect..But the thing I missed the most (besides obviously my husband) was a card that let me know I was really special to someone. I guess even if we know we are It just helps to know someone else thinks so and to not have it vaildated on a day like Valentines day makes it hard.
I have been thinking for a while about this year and I am going to do my best to not let it get me down too much. I am going to make it a day for me to show the kids how much I love them. I am also hoping that I can take the kids out somewhere nice to eat. Just me and the kids get dressed up and have a special Valentines dinner. and I am hoping that when I see all the couples together I can look at my children and say to myself. I am lucky to have three little people sitting across from me who love me very much and I don't even have to worry what they are thinking or ever question their love.

I'm always alone too B. But this year I am working on a little project for my co-workers and then I'm sending out VD cards to some friends and trying to remind myself that VD is not just about a significant other but also about family and friends that you have and love.
