So, I have a full-time job that is currently temporary to permanent, that has just gone completely temporary. I am covering maternity leave for 2 girls here and the one I am covering for now is coming back in 2 weeks. The other one isn't due until the end of November so I have to take a month off in between, which wasn't the initial agreement, but I realize that sometimes things change. I just now finally got caught up on my bills and if I have to take the month off again, I will get behind again.

I am having such a hard time finding a new job. I have tried the local newspapers, and monster.com. I dont know what else to do. I have even called all my contacts to call. I am trying to be positive but it's hard. Anyone have any suggestions?

Are you being open-minded about what kind of jobs you are considering? I know you enjoy what you currently do and are probably looking for a job in the same field, but you may have to take what you can get at this point to pay the bills until something better opens up. Maybe something like waiting tables or bartending or even telemarketing.

Also, I would recommend revising, updating and perfecting your resume and write a really good cover letter to go with it. Send it out to all the legal offices in your area whether they are hiring or not (if that's where you still really want to work). If you can impress someone with your resume, they may create a position for you even if they don't have one available. I did that when I was looking for a job and received four different job offers from companies that had initially informed me that they were not currently hiring. Just be persistent, you'll find something.

Thanks alex. I did what you suggested about a month ago and that's how I found the job that I have now.

And the whole food service thing, people irratate me too much to do that and someone would probably get food in their face. Smiler
