I would like to know if anyone has any information on how a person could work at home. Only ones that are for real. Nothing that is scams. There are a lot of scams going around. One of the groups gave this address mommyenterprise.com

Have to speak up and toss in my two cents here. Ive owned my own business from home for nine years. Its a business I started on my own and have been successful without any other start up capital or assistance. There are many companies who advertise that you work from home to lure you in and are nothing but scams. However there are many who are legitimate as far as their business practices go but were not talking legitimacy, were talking making money. People do make money (legal plans, etc.) but the majority of people dont. They want you to invest a tremendous amount of time and effort and if youre not successful, its because youre not motivated enough.

A couple tips of caution:
1. If its strictly commission based, DONT DO IT. My feeling has always been if a company believes in you, then they need to pay you. I dont understand the reason for working my tail off for someone and not getting compensated for it. Single parents dont have time to waste on something that isnt going to show returns.

2. If it involves having to recruit others into the business to make any money, DONT DO IT. Its nothing more than the age old pyramid scheme.

Again, Im sure some people do make money at some of these businesses but the old saying If its too good to be true, it probably is especially applies to this.

Larry has some really good points. I started an in home daycare. As it grew so did I. The business is now in it's own house that I do not live in. I love daycare. I spend more time with my kids and can get some needed things done at work, like laundry.

I am sure there are plenty of things one can do at home to make money, like doing medical billing if you know how and have a computer, or watching kids. I thought about the latter myself but then realized I dont want to make that big a commitment if I need days off or I am sick Id need back-up people.....
I think a lot of these "work-at-home" advertisements are scams, especially if they tell you to send money and a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope. I don't trust them, and like they say, if its too good to be true it probobly is.

I am a National Finance Executive for several banks across the country. I am also a single mom who works from my house, from the baseball fields and basketball courts, and sometimes from my doctors office in compromising positions. ;-) I also have time to work on my own book, help with homework and travel a few times a year with expenses paid.

I am always looking for people to help me market in other states. You can do it from home by calling companies who sell any type of equipment in the commercial market. However, as I work on a commission "only" structure, I pay my associates on performance.

If you are interested, please email me and I will train you over the phone and help you get where you want to be in life. Or, I could contact some of the companies that I work with and get you a position in equipment sales. Believe it or not, most of these companies train you, give you solid business relationships to maintain AND allow you to work from home.

Commissioned sales is not for everyone, however, it allows you to be at home with your children most of the time, and provides an unlimited income potential. If you have the right personality and allign yourself with the right people - you'll never have to worry about finances again. Some commissioned based jobs also come with a small base salary ($35k +), 401ks, health and disability insurance, etc.

Don't be quick to judge the commission based structures - JUST THE ADVERTISED ONES. I wouldn't consider myself cut out for sales in Avon or Mary Kay because this type of commission structure requires a lot of wasted time, slammed doors, and frustration; but some people do it and make their bills.

If nothing else, please be sure to have an open mind to roads less traveled and RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH.

Isn't it kind of hard doing business on the phone with kids around? I cannot even talk to a friend for 5 minutes without being interrupted!

I am a 23 year old single mom of a 2 year old boy. I am blessed to be able to work from home. I manage an apartment complex, so I live where I work. It is a great opportunity for me to be able to earn money (and free rent) and be able to be with my son all the time. He is able to do everything with me. It is a fantastic opportunity for anyone and I highly recommend it. I would not be able to spend as much time with my son and earn money without this job.

I am a single mom in Florida going to school mon. and wed. for 12 hours a day. I am having a hard time. I just want to quit it's hard having to depend on someone else to watch your children. I have a background in new home sales, and I am in school for nursing, if anyone has a job part-time that I could work from home, or work three days a week while my children are in school I would love to know where it is. Thanks

I just quit my job today. It was so stressful, I couldn't take it anymore. I need an office job, or even a night job. I can't keep doing this, sending my kids to daycare 40 hours a week. Never getting to see them. Half of my money going on daycare. I'm fed up with it. All of these work at home jobs I've tried (Okay, not all of them but PLENTY I've spent money on). Mystery shopping is something good to get into, but that's only if you have someone to watch your kids while you do it - because 99% of them you can't bring kids in.

I want to make my own website, maybe selling something that I make. I don't know, but I need some help from other moms maybe to make a GROUP and we could ALL make money that way. Of course it wouldn't be millions (at first! hehe) but it would be a start, right?

So if you are good at making something... anything.. please send me a private message or email me at (e-mail addy removed)
