Well, after the stress of last week I went to the Dr. My blood pressure was through the roof and he put me on zanax. Has anyone been on it? I have never needed medication like this before and it has helped. Just scary.

That hasn't happened to me however, I recently went to a doctor's appointment and found out I was severly anemic. He called my office and told get to his office to check my vitals again. He managed to do that without scaring me.

He gave me iron pills which make me nausous... but things are okay now.

Did you mean "Xanax" which is for anxiety. It has a sedative effect, thus causing a decrease in blood pressure. Did your doctor evaluate other factors that may be contributing to your high blood pressure (eg, diet, cholesterol levels, overweight, family history) besides stress?
