While one heart yearns
And feelings grow fonder
Why is it the other one
Begins to wander

Through pastures and fields
Full of thistles and thorns
Leaving the yearning heart
Nothing to do but mourn

Trying hard to recover
From his misfortunate fate
Thoughts run through his mind
But are they too late

Remembering the days
That nothing was sure
His actions repressed
But his feelings were pure

He can’t help but feel
The battle is lost
Like a delicate rose
That’s been covered with frost

His feelings exposed
His heart has been bared
He prays his desire
Can some how be spared

Only one thing remains
It’s all he can do
Let time take it’s course
And see….if it’s true
