Hi everyone, I'm a freelance writer working on a feature article for a national women's magazine. The article will profile a woman who was in over her head in debt because of a divorce -- and who found a way to dig herself out and get back on track financially. The article will share her success story and provide real-life get-out-of-debt strategies for people who find themselves in similar situations. Are you -- or do you know -- someone who fits the bill? If so, please contact me ASAP. Thanks so much! Leah Hennen HennenL@aol.com

I know you can find information on getting out of debt at www.DaveRamsey.com That is all he does is teach people how to get out of debt. He has written many books on the matter and has a lot of real stories about people getting thousands of dollars out of debt.
I know because I am one of them and now I do financial advising for it now. His teachings are the basics of my advisings.

Thanks for the website. This is one of my most weighing areas-The debt I incurred through all of this. It overwelms me-I am half finished with my B.A. and considering returning to school-Yet each time I sit to look at my finances-I can not believe how much it is costing me to run the household let alone begin to attack my debt-let alone go to school Red Face Yet I don't know how I am going to build a secure future unless I educate myself for some decent paying job-I am presently a chil and youth worker. I am on stress leave so it is a good time to make some decisions-I'm working on it but I get very frustrated-Take Care

Hello Everyone., I am a 37 y/o divorced mom of 2 children. I was married for 17 years and although I worked for the first 7 years - when there were no children. I didn't work the last 10, needless to say I had no solid way to earn a living when I got divorced. It has now been 2.5 years since the divorce. It was a struggle, at first I worked a contingent job which could be as little as 2 hours per week & as much as 40. Alongside with that I got a realtors license and soon learned the joys of a roller coaster commision paycheck. OH yeah.. and someone suggested now would be the best time for me to go to college to get a degree (in what??? cleaning house!!!) So I was going to college full time as well. Let's just say I toasted out! (smiling now.. wasn't then) After a little over a year of living like this - shut off notices, bank overdraft charges, and late fees enough to wallpaper a room. I decided it was time to get a full time job. yepppers the old 9 to 5'er. Well it's now been 9 months into the job, yes steady income... yes my bills are now current, my credit score is now in a solid range, but guess what.... there is nothing left of me for my kids. As this sat upon my heart and grived me I kept thinking I amy be surviving financially but I am watching my children drift further away... I will never get these years back with them.
I decided I was taking back my life!!! I made a prayerful cry out to my Heavenly FAther., and in his answer... I found a new path. If I may., I became an associate with a home based business., (pre paid legal services) and I am preparing right now, even this hour, to quit my full time job by the end of July,2005, and homeschool my children in the fall while the income from this business provides over and above what I was making at my 40 hour. I know this is lengthy, but I hope that anyone who reads this would be encouraged, that if I can do this., you would be able to take charge of your life too! As long as the web site allows me to, I will provide anyone with information concerning this company that would like to take back their family as well. * I am not trying to drum up business.. but rather, give a testimponey of encouragement to single and/or divorced parents who want their life & kids back!
