I live in Clearwater FL. I have my 4 year old and 1 year old daughters every other weekend. I am looking for someone who has about the same age children so that my daughters have some playmates. It's frustrating right now, I have run out of things to do with them and I have little money to afford expensive things like Chucky Cheese etc. Email if you can help.

Hi Scott and welcome to the board!

I can't help you directly, since I'm in SC, however, I've been a teacher for the past 7 years just recently retired. Here a few inexpensive ideas that you can do with both of your girls on the weekends that you may have them:

- Go to the local public playground, they'll find a playmate usually on their own.

- Make bubble solution and wands using dish soap SLIGHTLY watered down and garbage bag twisties. Variation: Put bubble solution in a cup with a straw and food coloring. Let the girls BLOW bubbles in the cup using the straw and watch the colored bubble solution spill over onto a piece of white paper and watch a design form!

- homemade no-mess Finger paint in a ziplock. Use karo syrup and food coloring (usually only a drop) in a baggie, your 1 yro can even enjoy this one! Variation, put on drop of 2 colors in the bag and let the girls mix the colors with the bag closed and see what color they get!

- Shaving cream, whipped topping or jello. Let the girls finger paint shaving cream or whipped topping on the table top. Your 1 yro can use the jello on the high chair tray safely.

I have gobs of other ideas that are probably already using items you already have in your kitchen. If you would like more just let me know...I'll be happy to help you out some more!
