ok, i know i've told this story before, but i love telling it, so here goes. my son zachary, was born in the middle of hurricane jeane (the last hurricane to hit FL). i was in labor for a day before i relized it. then on the morning the hurricane hit, i figured out i was in labor, so i went to the hospital right before they went on lock down. you could only have one person with you, so i brought my mom. i was the only girl in labor there, so i had the whole staff's attention. and they were bored so they decided to pump me full of pitocin so we could get it over with. i also recieved a GREAT epidural and didnt feel a thing. as i was pushing, the t.v. was showing the hurricane hitting us, and of course we could all see it and hear it out the window. zach was born at 8:38, and we lost power at 8:39.i was cleaned and stitched up by flashlight. the back up generators went out too. we were without power for about 7 hours, so i never got a really good look at my son, for a while. i couldnt have any visitors either because no one could drive for like 3 days after the hurricanes. and then we had to go home to no power for about 4 days. it was hard, but what a great story to tell! plus we were in the newspaper!! just thought i would tell everyone!

That is a great story. It will be one that he'll love to hear and then love to tell for the rest of his life. That was a big storm, so it is a good thing that you made it before lock down happened. I can't even imagine having to go through all of that by flashlight. What a handsome little man w/a great beginning during such a scary event!
aww thanks guys! yea it is a fun story and im sure he'll love it when he gets older. ya know, it wasnt really that scary when i was giving birth because i couldnt really think about the hurricane, but after he was born and we were sitting in the dark just listening to the hurricane outside, it got a litte creepy. we were on the top floor, so i was terrified the roof would collapse. thankfully, we were fine, just really hot with no air-conditioning!
