As some of you may have noticed i've been MIA since Saturday. Well little Adeline decided that she was impatient and thought she would give it a try to come into the world on Saturday morning. I went to the hospital where I was having contractions so they admitted me and immediately did a sonogram. My cervix had shortened to a very unsafe length so they decided to do a cercloge (i have no idea how to spell but it's where they stitch your cervix until a couple of weeks before your due date to keep the baby from making an early apperance.) I will now be on bedrest for the next week and then go back to the doctor to see where we will go from there. They said that they are working towards 24 weeks (stage of viability) and everyday after that is a blessing. So if all of you could keep me in your prayers and I will be on when I can to keep ya'll updated.

Jenn -
PM me if you need to talk - I went into preterm labor with my first at 16 weeks, with my second at 20 weeks and with my third at 14 weeks. I was on bedrest with my daughter for 2 months, and with my baby for 4 months. I COMPLETELY understand what you're going through. I even wrote a book with other women's stories about preterm labor and premature births, so I consider myself somewhat of an expert on the subject Wink At any rate, I know it can be SCAREY and I am happy to talk or hang out with you at the hospital - since I'm local and all - anytime!!! Seriously!!

Also, check out www.sidelines.com - it is a national organization for bedresting/high risk moms and it SAVED ME when I was on bedrest.

Cerclages have a high rate of success, especially if you catch it early, like you apparently did! Great job on paying attention to your body!!

Email me or IM me anytime - and I will be happy to give you my phone number - you can call anytime!!
I'll be online for a while, if you want to private message me!!

gadzooks girl - that is just too scary for words. i am so sorry. i was put on bed rest too and it just suc ks when you are alone. i had people do my laundry and bring me food and it was so awful as none of my family could help. i really hope your folks are softening and jumping right in there and showering you (and addie) with love and concern and hugs and special little treats.

i had my laptop in bed with me, but it was so hard to stay awake and alert lying there like a lump. daytime tv - not so good.

faith was 4 pounds when she was born, it was wonderful having extra bonus time to love her before she was due. teeny babies are delightful too. Group Hug we're all here for you! Group Hug

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and support. I went back to the doctor today, they did another sonogram and said the surgery did wonders. I'm not out of the woods yet but they are very happy with the results. I am allowed to go back to work now but need to come home and take it really easy. So i guess my daily shopping sprees are out of the question lol. Or i'll just do it online *taps fingertips together like Mr. Burns from the simpsons*
