"Board Blazen Parent" At A loss for Words - NOT! |
Hey Girls,
I can't say much different. I had the strangest dreams also with every pregnancy, and that was a lot of them in my book. Thank goodness no more! The task ahead of you is never as great as the POWER within you. Judge others only when you are ready to be judged. Ray |

Learning to Surf The Board |
Its kind of a dead board but I thought I would post..
One night when my ex bf was living with my family and me;he had raped me and that very night I knew my life would be forever changed..I went to sleep having a dream I was pregnant and bringing a life into the world..2 Weeks from that night a doctor confirmed what I already knew...About 2 months later I went and got a baby book of names and picked out a boy's name.I was still convinced it was a boy even after the nurse who did my ultra sound said it was a girl;but because she said that I choose a girl's name*didnt want to think of one at the last minute*Turned out I was right... |

I kept having a dream that I forgot my son in different places...kind of weird...wonder if that is why I am so overprotective now?!?!? lol

I havent had any weird dreams yet personally but my mother did. With all her pregnancies she had the same dream. She is completely scared of heights and in her dream she had to face that fear to save a baby. She faced her fear with me and my brother but when she had the dream and couldnt save it she miscarried. Then she had the same dream the day before I told her I was pregnant. Good news- she conquered her fear so I guess thats a good premonition

I would always have really weird dreams, too...it goes along with all the crazy hormones!!! LOL
I had six + ultrasounds with my first child (high risk pregnancy) and was told that my baby was a girl every time. Yes, I asked every time to be sure. The first time I went in to have my first ultrasound done, I was sure it was going to be a boy, but we got different news. Well, when I would go to the store to do some baby shopping for the nursery I would pick out blue stuff. For some reason, no matter what - I was drawn to the blue stuff. Blue crib set, blue wall paper that I did hang up in the nursery (had gold stars on it in various sizes that matched the crib set I bought). You name it - I had a boys' nursery. LOL My friends would endlessly tease me, but I loved it!!!! It looked so cozy and was a very inviting room to just sit in. I did, however, have girl clothes in the closet and what not. I also had a boys name picked out for years before that I was determined to use for my first sons' name. We had to pick out a name for a girl since we were having a girl and I hadn't picked out girls names since I stopped playing with dolls. I was going to use Sadie Mae (I still love that name). Well, the day came and I was still skeptical and brought a gender neutral outfit in the baby bag to the hospital. THANK GOD I DID!!! She came out a he. Was it a premonition or intuition? I dunno....Do moms REALLY know??? Possibly. I always dream pretty vividly but it's even worse/better when I'm pregnant. It's strange because it's always one of the first signs I get. It's usually a pretty bad dream and wakes me up. That has never happened other than when I'm pregnant.
I too just "knew" when I was pregnant with Alex that he was a boy. He was a shy little guy at that since he didn't reveal it until 2 weeks before he was born. I had a amniocentisis with Katie so I found out really early with her but I knew anyway simply because I wanted another boy...LOL. With Ryan I was convinced from the get-go he was a boy but everybody else had me so convinced he was a girl that I started to doubt myself. My friend Amanda was with me the day I found out and I laughed and told her she'd been wrong all along. She asked the tech what the margin of error was and the tech said some percentage but then said absolutely ZERO with Ryan. Little guy was impressing the ladies even then...lol. I even have a ultrasound pic with an arrow saying "it's a boy!" and pointing to his little willy. It's one of my favorites and I've kept it on the fridge ever since. I can't wait until he's old enough to ask what it is and be all embarrassed that it's been on the fridge for years!!! I dont know why anyone would want you to erase that. We women love to hear that men suffered in some way as a result of pregnancy. LOL
I personally slept like a rock when I was pregnant. Pretty much anytime I sat still I was out. But in normal life I have recurrent anxiety dreams. Like..I get to the airport about to take a trip and have forgotten either my tickets, my money, or my luggage. Or...I'm about to get married (people waiting at the church), except I forgot to get a dress. I spend my whole night going from dress shop to dress shop and all the dresses are either too expensive or dont fit me. What do you think that means? I don't remember having many dreams while I was pregnant, other than one that I had before my son was born. In my dream we called him by a name that was different than the one we had picked out. However, when my son was born we went with the original name we had picked out. The baby in my dream looked completely different than my son. My son was blond and the baby in my dream had dark hair. I had another dream about the same little boy years later when I wasn't pregnant. In my dream he was my third child...not sure if I'll ever find out if he really is but it definitely has stuck with me all this time..
I also believed I knew what I was having both times...but looking back on it I'm not sure if it was intuitution or wishful thinking that happened to came true. |

Hey!...wanna hear something freaky?
I actually saw my youngest daughter in a dream...before my wife and I had kids.... ....I had a dream about this little girl, (of course, beautiful...duh) running about the front yard as I was sitting inside and watching her through the screen door. This litle girl was about 4 years old and had brown to light brown, curly hair. My oldest was absolutely beautiful as a littl girl and had curly hair....but her hair is black...so, of course I thought it was her...just with a different color hair. (I always had dreams about things before they happen, I know, it's wierd). So I didnt think much of it. So, when my youngest was 4 I was.....siting inside watching her through the screen door and the scene played out, right in front of me! Here's the freakiest part....before she was born, I had ALREADY...gotten...uhm...snipped. As much headaches as she gives me...I still thank God for her, everyday. So, I took a picture: and now: I'm a man of many mysteries and sides....SO many I'm practically round!! |

ohhh, i got one!
I had a dream about a week after i got pregnant, and before i actually knew i was pregnant. In the dream, i was at my favorite bar, i was on the stage dancing having a great time. then i looked over my shoulder and i saw myself picking up a baby out of a swing, well that scared me so i didnt want to look again, i kept dancing and i eventually looked back again and i saw myself holding my daughter. That scared me so much, and when i woke up i decided to go buy a pregnancy test! I had a very vivid and scary dream about 8 years ago that is still so fresh in my mind that it freaks me out. This was a re-occuring dream that I had off and on for about 6 months.
I dreamed that me and my kids were in a car wreck. We were rear-ended by a semi and all my friends that I worked with were working on extricating me from the car. I kept screaming at them to forget about me and get the kids out when my friend Libby leaned down in my face and told me that the kids were dead and to quit fighting and cooperate. THAT woke up me but when I fell back to sleep the dream continued. I fast forwarded to the funeral where my sweet babies were buried together. Alex was laying on his back in the casket with his arm around Katie and she had her cheek layed on his chest. They were just so tiny and peaceful. God I think about that dream and it makes me ill because I can still close my eyes and see all the details. At the end of the dream I had a gun and I went to thier dad's house and shot him and his wife and then myself. I always woke up hearing the gun-shot next to my head and for the first few times I had the dream, I had to go get sick in the bathroom. I think that's when and why my insomnia started. Man who could possibly be surprised after that? My blue-eyed babies Courage isn't the absense of fear but the willingness to act in the face of fear. |
