they said the epidural increases chances for a c-section, maybe that's it?

KM, how spicy should the food be? I've been on a spicy diet nowadays... spicy tuna, spicy noodles, spicy chicken... I'm guessing when the baby comes out, he will really be one HOT DUDE... LOL Big Grin

c-section rates are increasing for multiple reasons. Mostly due to failed inductions. It amazes me how many Drs will arrange an induction for absolutely no medical reason whatsoever. So many do this for THEIR convenience. If the baby isn't ready even an induction won't get them to come out and then they resort to c-sections...or the induction starts out well and takes a turn for the worst and the baby needs to come out right away. Epidurals may cause your labor to slow down since you are then "stuck" in bed and can't keep moving around to get the baby to come down...which is why having an epi may result in a c-section too. However that is why they usually make you wait until you are a 5 or 7 (can't remember) to get the epi, so you are progressed enough.

To get the baby out...ummmm, intercourse. I know, so easy when you are single mom huh? LOL Walking may help, bouncing on those big exercise balls may help. Whatever you do DON'T drink castor oil, it'll only clean you out! Otherwise I hate to say it but he'll come when he's ready even if you walked all day long!

I can't wait to meet your little guy!!!

My C-section wasn't because of an epidural. He mooned the doctor and nurses first before i got the epi. LOL

LOL, yeah that is another great reason for a c-section! Oh and another is when the placenta is too close to your cervix. Actually this almost happened to me this pregnancy and come to find out it's a whopping 3.7 cm from my cervix but as my uterus grows it will move up and away, thankfully! But see, those are true medical reasons...not failed induction attempts. Can you tell I'm not really for non-medical inductions! Smiler

My doctor said the reason why she'll induce me on the 40th week is she doesnt want the baby to be overdue. There may be complications like he may already poop inside the belly and it wont be good for him. I'm just hoping I dont reach the 40th week so I dont have to have the induction.

LOL, Paul already suggested to me intercourse to release some pitoxins and get me to go into labor. Well I can contact the father for that (I'm quite sure he'll oblige, LOL), but Tessmit said the *** should be good to yield the desired results, so I may as well ask a friend who's a medical practitioner because he'll know better how to release those pitoxins to get me going. But then again, since he's a very good friend, doing it with him may only complicate things, so I think I'll stick to walking, bouncing and spicy foods. Big Grin

Blindsky thinks that perhaps your birth plan has already been put into process.

I hope that you'll soon be returning to us with wonderful new baby pictures!

You got it right blindsky! Unfortunately, the hospital i went to wouldnt give me my epidural unless my doctor said so. And my doctor didnt let me have the epi until i was a 6! she wanted my labor to progress quickly because my water already broke at midnight and the baby was in risk of infection. They actually gave me something to make my contractions stronger and closer together. My doctor only gave me something to sedate me, but it really had no effect on me... so okayed the epi at noon when I was already a six but the anesthesiologist didnt come until 2pm to give me the epi! Just an hour more I was already at 10cm and three pushes afterwards he was out! I only got the benefit of the epi for an hour! Darn hospital rules. Had I known I'll only benefit for an hour i wouldnt have asked for it. Besides, I already had it all natural 90% of my whole labor time (even tho it really hurts like crazy). Eeker

baby pics at the photo album

I've more pics posted at myspace Smiler

I lack sleep! He's awake in the evening and asleep at daytime. I'm trying to sleep whenever he's asleep but I'm having jetlag... seems the guy lives in a different timezone. And when he's awake he always needs attention -- he needs to be cuddled and pampered and held, so no sleep time for me.

And by the way, I have no breastmilk yet. The doctor said it'll be three days after I deliver before I have milk. It's been four days, tried pumping but nothing came out. Eeker

Dawn, did the doctor hook up Ian to the breast right after delivery?
Hmm....did doc say why three days after delivery? IS there suppose to be a magical number of days?

Thanks Don! Good thing he looks more like me and not his father. LOL Big Grin Btw, I just realized we both have the same name pronunciation, just different spellings. Good thing this is a virtual forum, if SFV had a get-together, and someone called you, I'd also look. Razzer

Miranda, the doctor did put Ian on my breasts right after delivery but he was asleep so he didnt s u c k. I heard him cry for just a few seconds -- right after they got the fluid out his lungs -- then he fell quiet. When they showed him to me after cleaning him up and wrapping him, he was already sleeping. As for the three days... my doc just predicted that I wont have any milk until after three days, because I told her a day after the delivery that I still do not have milk.

Of course! So when are you coming here for the baptismal? I also asked Paul to be "the godfather" (lol, isnt that a movie?) so you could come together and spend a pre-wedding honeymoon on these islands. LOL (I never give up do I?). Big Grin
