I got a call from the nurse on Friday that I have HPV. I freaked cuz I don't know exactly what it is. I know it stands for human pap* virus but don't know how it'll affect the pregnancy. Doc says that it won't affect the birth & stuff. Anyone have words of encouragement?

I was diagnosed with this years ago. My doctor did an in-office surgery and i've been fine ever since. HPV is treatable if caught early. The big scare with it is that if it's gone untreated you may end up having cervical cancer. Your doc is right, it won't have any effect on your baby. Really..you are going to be ok...

I had this also.. The doctor did a procedure to remove all the abnormal cells in my cervix. I get a Pap every 6 months, to make sure it doesn't come back. I have been free of it for 2 years. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
