I was 10 years old when the love of my life moved 3 houses away from me. Eric and I automatically hit it off. We were bestfriends up until the day he asked me to be his girlfriend. We went on as girlfriend/boyfriend for 11 months. And that is when we started having sex.We used a condom but then it broke so we used the "pull out" method. Then I turned 11 and I got my period, I bled forever. I was never regular. So 3 months later when I didn't get my period I thought nothing of it. Days later, I got morning sickness and cramps. I was so sick my mom took me to the hospital to see what was wrong. Come to find out I was three weeks pregnant.My mommy and daddy went crazy, they were so pissed. I felt horrible, they treated me like an evil step child. They never even enknoweleged that I was their daughter. I was the only child so it was like they didn't have a child.They sent me to live with my Nana and Papa an hour away in Farmington but that week later my Nana and Papa moved up here to STL where I had to stay in a tiny apartment with them. We later moved into a 3 bedroom apartment. My grandparents and Eric's parents helped me supply my baby girl with everything she needed. My parents never did anything to help.
I gave birth at the age of 12 and Eric was 15 almost 16.That night my Nana and Papa let Eric sleep over because I was supposed to go in labor the next day. I woke Eric up at 2:47 am because I had slight labor pains. We arrived at the hospital and I was already 6 cm diailted. My Papa called my parents and they didn't show up so Eric had held one leg and my Nana had the other. Erika LaShay Johnson was born at 4:58 am on February 3,2000(the same day as my 5 year old cousin).She weighed a tiny 5lbs and 2oz. (She took after me, I was only 4'10 and 96lbs) My mom and dad finally came around after Erika was 4 weeks old.My parents let me move back home when she was 6 weeks old. My mom and dad finally came around and let me a Eric be together.Then Eric started denying my baby girl because she is lighter then him. MY mom is white, my dad is black, and I am black and white. I'm black/white and he's black what did he think our baby would look like? A paterinty test proved him wrong. Erika is his daughter!! She's a little light skinned girl with sandy brown hair with blue eyes that change in the light/sun.
Years have past and life is good! I am 16, Eric is 19 and Erika is 4 years old and tons of fun and double the trouble.
I regret having her at such a young age. Everyone tells me that I am not going to get anywhere with a 4 year old on my hip, but I know they are lying because I am way to smart to let my dream go down the drain. I am still going to go to college and learn.Even if I do have a 4 year old on my hip. By the way Eric and I aren't together but we are the best of friends and he does everything he can for her.

Wow Alisha! Go girl! You appear to be a very strong, intelligent, well rounded individual. Despite all you have been through, you still are positive and strong. I admire that. Wow, your story is amazing!!! It shocks me though that at 10 yrs. old you were having sex when you should have been playing with dolls. I have three children twins boy/girl age 12 yrs. and a 6 yr. old girl. Todays generation of children are very forward about doing things. I had a problem with some girls recently. These girls were sneaking out by staying the night at their girlfreinds houses and traveling seven miles to see my son. I put a stop to it I told the girls to be up front with me and they didn't. All of the girls had condoms and were seeing other boys in my sons home town. I called the police and the cops escorted two of the girls back to their parents. None of the parents had a clue to what their girls were doing. I also had a talk with the grandma of the girl that was trying to see my son. I told the grandma that I know for a fact that my son is not sexually active but, that she needs to talk to her granddaughter. My son is not into girls yet but the girls are into him. I can't believe how fast todays girls are it is sick. Girls are calling my son all the time I have put a stop to that also. I hope you achieve what you want in life and let me tell you it is not easy raising children as a single parent. I struggle everyday. I wish the best for you and your child.
