I met my best friend on an internet message board during my pregnancy. We talk on the phone about three times a day and manage to visit each other once a year (she lives in Iowa, i'm in Ohio). Would you believe this girl booked airfare for the weekend i'm moving so she can help me?? I'm so totally blown away. I have friends that i've known since elementry school that haven't offered (well..one offered to collect boxes for me. LOL) Yet, my friend in Iowa is taking time off work and spending a few hundred dollars to be here with me.

I just needed to boast about my friend. You just never know where you're going to meet genuine people.

That's awesome! My family has a secret phone tree for when they find out I'm moving. They each have their person to call to warn them to make solid plans for that weekend before I call for help. ...well at least it feels that way. Roll Eyes

I'd love to have a friend like that...hold on to her!

I'm happy you found a genuine friend. As we all know, it's kinda hard to find one.

as for moving - my family is sort of you help me, i'll help you. And so we all help each other if there is a move. Not to mention, the more cars, the less trips Smiler

Hi I'm new here. Your are so lucky to have her and she deserves the boasting! While I do have a pretty good friend (male), I don't have genuine female friends. My two female friends, one is a housewife with a 3 yr old boy, the second is busy studying (full-time school and working) so I feel that our bond is no longer there. I have acquaintances but I don't consider that friendships. I also think that's why I joined this forum to see if I can bond with others. Thank you for letting me share.
