"Every thought we think is creating our future"

I've been EXTREMELY stressed this week. I decided to be "super woman" and go back to school full time. Now I'm in need of a major break this weekend.
I think I was more fun before I had kids. I liked to go out and go bar hopping, etc. Now I'm perfectly content with just going out to dinner, having a few drinks, maybe going to the movies.

Question:
What is your idea of a fun night out?

...I apologize in advance if your idea of a fun night out is not in my options.

Choices:
Go get drunk as a skunk...anywhere
Dinner and a movie
Shopping...lots and lots of shopping
night club(s)
Stay home and be lazy

How about dinner, a couple/few drinks, and then a DVD at home? I would usually much rather avoid the theaters.
Or a motorcycle ride up around the mountains/lakes on the weekend.

I would love to rent a few movies, get take out, get my pjs on and snuggle with Kai. Maybe even play a few games with her. Smiler

If I was dating someone I would prefer to do the same except Kai would go to Papa's house. lol

I posted about this in another thread. My idea of fun has changed so much from my pre-child days. I spent the majority of my teens and early 20's clubbing and partying (and shopping and being completely self absorbed). Right now it's the last thing on earth I want to do.

Erin, what are you back in school for?

I got the brilliant idea of going back to school to get a business degree like my brother. Things are getting a little bit better, but it's taking my brain a little while to get back into "studying" mode. Smiler

I would take a walk on the beach - my puppies would romp and play, we'd giggle and smooch under the moon - me and the date, not the puppies - well, maybe just a little. Did I mention there would be wine? lol

If you think you can, or you think you cant - you are right.

I can't believe how much I just miss going out to eat... a movie would be awesome. Dining was one of my favorite hobbies. Love trying new stuff or revisiting favorites.

Don't you just hate going to a movie alone? Not quite as bad as eating alone (did that a lot on business trips out to AZ and CO).

I'm lucky, I go out to eat about once a week now - far more often than when the B&B had guests all the time (only open Sat nights for a while as my version of maternity leave) The genre is not froo froo anymore, but one place has 3 owners who all light up and yell "Hey Faith!" whenever we walk in. I doubt they know my name and I think that's exactly as it should be.

I cook - a lot - and love trying or inventing new stuff, so I dont feel too deprived - at least not yet anyway. I will never forget Faith not sleeping and me looking haggard in church's cry room - a friend asked if I ate something different. I starting listing stuff. When I got to jalepeno peppers a guy looked up and said "even I know you're an idiot!" ha ha ha haa!!!!

That's great, Erin. You could probably find a way to combine your healthcare background and the business degree.

That's what I was thinking at first. Now I'm just thinking I'm insane. Lol!

Not insane at all. Although, I'm about halfway through a BSN program and feeling a bit the same way. I think maybe we'll feel real smart at the end?

That almost romantic camping dinner on a warm summer night by the lake I had last year was kind of nice.

A walk by the river after dinner in a restaurant would be an idea too.

ideal? mine would be driving out of the city to camp in a national or state park in the middle of nowhere. Setting up tents with friends I've known since we were kids. Maybe going on a short hike then staying up late around the campfire, getting drunk, telling funny and embarrassing stories about way back when..., listening to someone else play the guitar (since I can't), melting beer bottles in the fire, staying up till I pass out in my chair or the fire goes out

then waking up early the next morning to go fishing for trout or grayling. I can sleep when I die

If I can't have that I'll take a night of latin dancing with beautiful women, with confident eyes, friendly smiles, and hips that don't lie. All around me are the sounds of a language I only half understand and there is a swiss backpacker girl who keeps catching my eye

We're so doing this before I die, Moosey! I'd do that tomorrow if I could.
