hmmmm, dunno.

for years I was a definate NO!!!!!!!!!! cos of my experience being married (I had the husband from ****).
I was so happy to be free again!!

I had the same concerns about my son, more worried that he would be damaged in some way.

Now that he is 16 and I am looking at more freedom - from mothering this time - and what my plans are for my own future, I see that a solid strong marriage is a very attractive option..............
well, only if he worships the ground I walk on!!! Roll Eyes

by the way, we both have different surnames, never a problem
EXCEPT........
that I had my ex-married name put in my pasport cos they thought I was kidnapping my own kid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eeker

I'm a yes! As My children's counselor told me when I was thinking about dating (after 2&1/2 years) " You're kid's have already seen what a relationship shouldn't be...Why not find yourself someone that you care about & have fun with & is loving & nurturing and encourages you to be the best person you can be and show them how wonderful love CAN be." Sounds good to me!
Now I just have to find him Love Hearts LOL
But I do believe what was said above with taking it slow & I think that with what we've all been through being single parents maybe we've have different priorities or perspectives and gaind an inner strength & fufillment in our lives that we can bring to whatever relationship we choose to have...marriage or not! Big Grin I know I have found an inner strength that I never knew I had...There is so much I want to do & I have deffinately realized one crutial thing about myself: I always loved that line from the movie Jerry McGuire "You Complete Me!" but I don't want anyone to complete me because I think I'm already a whole & happy person...I want someone to compliment me , to be a wonderful addition to the me I am!! And I don't want to complete anyone else...I've been down that road & it is just tooooo much to be responsible for filling the life of someone else! And NEVER being able to meet that! But even after an abusive marriage I hold out that IT is out there &
Marriage...Sure! Long response to a one word answer question??!! Sweet Hearts

Nope, but ask me in 16 (almost 15) years when my daughter is grown up and off in college or the military or what ever path she chooses.

My job is to raise her, not make it more complicated, confusing or drama stricken by bringing in men who may or may not stick around.

My Daddy is her main male role-model who she sees very regularly and that is totally cool with me and her.

But thats just my opinion, please don't beat me.

MY CAST OF CHARACTERS:

ME - 27 - was teased with the hope of moving out of WA and back to the South

HUSBAND - 29 - moved himself to NC for "his freedom"

MOMMY to my beautiful baby girl, who will be 3 in July!

MOMMY TO MY 2 FURBABIES - Pumpkin, 10, DMH Diva and Nermal, 6 DSH Princess.

Good question. I have yet to be married so I would like to get married someday, I have been waiting until I was done with college. But, I just don't know if I will. I haven't been treated well by the male species so I just keep telling myself that I will be single for the rest of my life and be happy with that but who knows what'll happen. So i would like to, just don't feel that it will happen.

I vote yes!! I am a hopeless romantic and still hope that someday I will find the right person (even though I am off to a very slow start!!!)I almost thought that the fairy tale romance I dream of doesn't exist then I read stories like Paul and Heather and know that it still does happen...

oh and just to add, I know some women tend to have the "scorned woman syndrome"..but IMHO noone should never be so foolish as to say "nope" "never again" and close their hearts to possibly finding someone "perfect for them" (as someone so nicely put it before (I think it was either NJ or Paul) and spending the rest of their life growing old with that person. Ahhh optimisim Big Grin
