I guess this would be for the ladies....just wondering if I am looking for the wrong type of man - had the engineering type, dated the rugged 4x4 type, dated the surfer type, like the buff military guys...!...., have never been attracted to the lawyer type (they are up there with the car salesman...) I know this is stereo typing, so Paul, go with it and see where it leads...

I've given up on "types". I have come across a few good men (when dating) and it had nothing to do with a certain type. I know I'm more attracted to a certain type, the tall, blue eyed men that shave their heads, lol. But I've come to just always go with my gut and that little voice in my head.

haha right now though...I'd just like the type that is honest, works hard, loves children and wants a family, now the package he comes in isn't that important, just some attraction so the baby making process isn't a chore, lol. Smiler

If we're talking initial attraction, it's definitely the rugged type for me....I notice from miles away...lol. When it really comes down to it though...I'm attracted to someone who treats me well...and I connect with...the physical attraction at that point is amazing because of who he really is and how I see him.

Give me a man that doesn't have better manicured nails than mine! One that can work on a car and still slow dance like a gentleman.

I want a man who was raised right by his mother to respect a woman, but still knows how to walk her into a room holding the small of her back..making her feel like the only woman in the room.

Metrosexual I say not. Rugged..not necessarily.

I'm more attracted to the rugged type. I think I just want men to take me on an adventure into the mountains, or under the ocean where we'll discover something new together.

However, I always get asked out by them metrosexuals. So most of my dates are actually tons of conversations in coffee shops, restaurants and some romantic hot spot they care to take me to. In a way, I also find them attractive particularly when they have the brains to carry on an intelligent conversation, so most of the men I really dated are metrosexuals, just because I havent been asked out by the rugged type.

So I guess for me, what really matters is who I tend to attract, because it's men who do the asking out anyway. We ladies just have to respond to them (unless we have the guts to ask men out, then that's a different story).

Amen to that!! That is what I want!! I am really not sure what I attract, because I have been married for sooooo long. What I attracted then was trash (mostly) and what I attract now is well, non-existant...I don't seem to attract anyone. I attracted more men when I was off the market.

Well i've test driven many different "types". From guitarist in a death metal band to an attorney. I've determined that they can be the same jerk in different clothing. LOL Now that i'm a mother i'm super-picky about personality instead of image. I would perfer a man who is low maintenance, laid back and worthy of my trust. It doesn't matter if his t-shirt says "devil man", "tupac" "harley davidson" or "versaci" Wink

Metro/Rugged.....not sure....tend to stay away from carpenters though (my ex is).

I do want a man that:

-I can wear heels with and not have him cop an attitude if I'm slightly taller with them on

-does not have black hair and blue eyes (1 or the other or anything else)

-Is fine with me playing in the sand with my son in the am and adjust to me being "all dolled up" and ready to go for a nice dinner for the 2 of us and not be shocked that I can clean up well.

-Realize I have many facets and he can be flexible and accept all of them/me

-know that if I want to just chill out for a little while that there's nothing wrong and I don't want to be bothered....just chill out.

-Accept that I can't cook "real food" often but I can bake anything he has a mind for.

-Like the ocean all times of the year, not just the summer

-That I can take to work functions and not worry if he will embarrass me in front of my co-workers/boss

-Someone that I can have an intelligent conversation with and not explain every "big" word I use

-Someone that can be my best friend/lover/parent

I don't really care how it's wrapped up or labeled.

I like a man who can carry off both.

He looks clean-cut in the office and scruffed up in the woods hiking.

He needs to be more libral than me since I'm conservative and ride the fence. (makes better conversations)

Ok---- that's just dream man..
If he only has eyes for me... he's got my attention.
