Rugged or Metro...

I grew up in the woods of northern Michigan. Mom would pack my brother and I a sandwich and a hatchet and sent of out into the woods day after day. She would have to signal us to come home by honking the horn on the car 3x to let us know to come back. Motorcycles, snowmobiles, hunting, fishing, camping.... Know the rugged lifestyle, relatives are a bunch of outlaws for the most part. =)

Flash forward a few decades here I am a director of structural engineering stuck behind a desk in a big city with no mountains or forests around trying to adjust to the ocean life. Not so bad I might add. Would say I am about 1/4 metro and holding at this point... my stint in DC had a big affect on that. Tampa is pretty laid back but I miss real trees the most.

Bought a new townhouse last week and feeling the metro decorating urges kicking in a bit... first project is to unpack the tools put a tray ceiling in the kitchen with some lighting to enhance things as you walk in the entry.

It's kinda rediculous actually blending both tastes but it is what I like... make it look sharp but not sissy.

Figure it's just "masculine".

I like deep rich colors... remindes me of autumn up north... do they qualify as metro? Besides... how metro can a place be with a 2 year-old in it...

Do I have to find the paragraphs about your preferred clothing?

Or about your spice racks ??

Hate to say it Paul, but you're either rooming with Martha Stewart or you are...
Maculine man by day, Metro man by night.... Smiler
Nice style though...I like how you've done your house. There's nothing wrong with being a metro-maculine guy....or just a metro-masked guy. Smiler
