I am new to this site and searching for persons in similar situations. Seperated, not yet divorced, mother of a 14 year old special needs son, not having any luck meeting other single parents of older children for possible discussions/information. I know there must be some out there. Where are you? I'm tired and would love some good sound conversations on living, beginning a new life and especially.. moving on. Thanks. Greatly appreciated. Helen L

Smiler I live in burbs outside of boston and am also new to this site. Although my daughter(12)is younger than your son and does not have special needs outside of ADD, I may be able to get you some information regarding special needs services- my ex-husband works with special needs people. If you let me know what you are looking for I may be able to help with that. I am also divorced and have a great deal of insight on that matter (and the single thing-lol). let me know. Big Grin

Hi BAM613,
Thanks for your reply. Sorry for the delay in returning the email.
I live in Natick. My son has ADD with developemental delays (slow). He is not shy, social, quite funny and easy to get along with. Sometimes he's quiet, sometimes very talkative. Lets chat in the near future. Again, thanks for your email and have a happy Thanksgiving! Lori

Smiler sorry so long to respond again. It's been a busy week. We had meetings w/ school and Doctor for medication and educational issues. I live in Medway. My daughter is sensitive, smart, funny and very compationate for someone so young. She had problems w/ attention and focus, but scored high on her IQ tests. It is still a stuggle with the over crowded schools and lack of needed support services ( thus our meetings last week). I look forward to chatting with you and sharing ideas to maybe help eachother out. feel free to email me at maxfield613*earthlink.net with more info/ideas/comments..etc. I look forward to hearing from you. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family also. Big Grin
