I recently became a single mom and am looking for support groups located either near Waltham or on the South Shore. Anybody know of any good ones? Let me know.

Hi Margaret -

I live in that area and have not had much success in finding support networks. Please keep in touch and let me know if you find anything - if not, maybe we can start our own!

Diane (mom to Ellie, 19mos.)

Count me in if you guys start a single mom support group! I have a 2 year old and am expecting in October....I've been looking for something like this for 2 years! The only ones I've found are out in the western part of the state- too far for me.

Hi,
I live on the South Shore and I have been searching for a support group for over a year but I can not seem to find one.
I just find it very strange that many here don't exist. Maybe we should start our own.

Hi ladies - just found you all yesterday - I am SERIOUSLY interested in starting/joining a support group on the South Shore - maybe we could start by emailing each other on a regular basis - I could use the contact. I'm a single Mom of 2 toddlers and I work from home - it's very isolating - I need to connect DAILY!!!!!

Margaret,

Were you able to find out anything about this group?

I am a divorced mom with one girl, age 14, I would be interested in this group if you recommend it and could tell me a few things about it.

Thank you.

I would also be interested in a support group.
I am in Rehoboth, south shouth shore!
Most of the groups I have seen are more geared towards sahm moms. Or moms with children under the age of 5.
Are there any groups for moms with older kids?
I work outside the home.

Hi, There is a support group in Plymouth called New Beginnings. I heard great things about it, and looked for one on the North Shore, to no avail. I learned about it at a Mars and Venus Starting over Seminar which was also very good!

Hi,
I live in Plymouth and I also heard about this support group but I heard that it is not so much a support group as a place to meet other single people. (If that makes sense) A friend of mine's mother attended there and she was kind of dissapointed because she wasn't going there to find a mate but to get support.
