Who here is from Massachusetts?

I am...grew up in the city of Boston and have the accent to prove it. Wink

Currently living west of the city, but moving northward in a couple of months.

Hey,

I'm in Lowell (Crack Town USA!). I've lived here since 1998. Before that I was in Virginia.

Nice to meet you. You know, if you search the old threads here, the Mass people once had a get-together at the Milford drive in...

Later,
Bobby

I'm actually very familiar with Lowell- my closest aunt lives there, and my brother lived there for a time.

That's cool...didn't realize there had been a get together! (going to search old posts)

lol...well, don't think I'm putting Lowell down then. I just make jokes about the movie HBO made about the place. Everytime I've seen it it's been entitled "High on Crack Street", but people swear the original title was Crack Town USA...dunno...

Yeah, we did it a year or two ago...saw the cartoon movie about carrier pigeons (don't remember the name). We then saw Wedding Crashers after the kids went to sleep. It was fun!

Later,
Bobby

Hey, I'm actually from Dorchester..and it seems to be pretty similar.

Nah, didn't think you were putting it down. I get the joke. Wink

I'll have to check out that drive in before the move gets underway. Geesh, my mother wants me to move so badly (not for me of course, she wants my daughter close by ) that she's actually LOOKING at apartments for me on saturday.

Yeah, it's pretty far up there. Very different than what I'm used to, but that's probably the point deep down.

When we first moved to Mass we came for Boston. Lol...then we looked at what apts cost there, and how little space we'd get for the outrageous rent we'd pay? Lol...that's how we ended up in Lowell. We hardly ever get to Boston now...

I still aim to be living near Boston for when little Bobby's in High School...maybe not Cambridge (it's a nice, but unrealistic place to buy a home)...Somerville might work though. As long as he'll be able to walk out his door and take the T anyplace he might want to go...

Ultimately, I think I'll settle with my daughter in Salem. It's a bit cheaper (for now! Wait til gentrification happens...) and only 30 min outside of Boston. I love riding the commuter rail, and KaRe is getting to love it as well! Yesterday she made me 'walk' with her up and down the car; she just HAD to say hello to everyone! Only 8 mos old and already greeting her public..

That's cute about her greeting the train people. You know, we have a commuter rail nearby, but I never use it...hmmm...should probably give it a chance.

You know, we've never been to Salem either...hmmm...we don't explore the state as much as we should...

Salem is lovely too. I lived there for about two years...a long time ago.
