To clarify I'm the auntie, my sister is the single parent. She and her husband divorced about 3 yrs ago and although not friendly everyone was doing what they were should do for the kids. This past summer the dentist told my sister both kids need braces, when she asked the ex to pay for half he refused saying that in the divorce agreement it says dental and health not orthodontist, she consulted her attny, she suggested they bring him back into court for contempt, today she received the judgement he does not have to contribute to the cost of the braces. She is so upset, she can't believe that her attorney was so stupid does she have any recourse by the way he owns three homes a porsche, a lincoln navigator , skis in Vt every week end etc. etc. The child support is minimal they earn about the same.

I had similer settlement, however I paid for braces volentarily, because you have to ask yourself how you want your kids to remember you , as a big man or a little man. Does he have any relationship with them at all, does he love them?

Hello, fellow Maynardian!

That is odd, beacause my ex wife had the same problem with her first husband. He refused to pay for braces too, but she took him to court and won!

Is your in Mass? If so, which court did she go to? I believe my ex went through Concord.
