I don't. Wish I could. Not even in my sleep. I often awake with a start several times when I am falling asleep. I am exhausted with no end in sight and that's the way it is. Relax? Ha!

5 minutes with a book and I am absorbed in a different world and it does not matter what is going on with the rest of my life. My problem is where to store all the books I have - I read them over and over and can’t bear to give them away, they are treasured friends. My other relaxation is pottering about in the kitchen creating.

Hi! I'm VERY new to this site and saw this topic and thought I'd give my 2 cents Big Grin ! To relax I stamp or I listen to music or I cook LOL. Card making and doing a project is relaxing to me, Music is a release for me if I'm in a bad mood I put on the headset and crank Metallica or something heavy, Cooking is great too, the smells of whatever I'm cooking will take my mind off whatever has me stressed.

I love the water, too. Heck even if it is just a tubby after they are asleep. Music,

Walking if it is possible to do without children -- so not too often -- I love to take a nice long brisk walk. It is so refreshing.

Oh and then there is the glass of red wine. Honestly, if I'm not here chatting most time when I grab one I don't even finish it, just the idea of it and a few sips of warmth seems to do the trick. I also find even a caffeine free diet soda along with some favorite snack the girls would never eat. After they fall to sleep I get my pj's and curl up with a plate right in the living room -- ok so food isn't a good thing but you know what, it works sometimes.

Luckily, because I live with my parents and they are really good about helping me with my daughter, I get the luxury of being able to "relax" sometimes. I love to read, and I especially love to scrapbook.

I don't scrapbook at home too much because there is always so much to do, but my mom house-sits for a couple we know and stays at their house for about 5 months while they are away. I spend the weekends there with her and I scrapbook for most of the weekend while she keeps my daughter entertained.

And my new form of relaxation...joining this site and reading & replying to the posts!

I love to listen to music(anything from Fiona Apple to Jill Scott) in the evening, when the kids are in bed. Also, I write poetry, surf the net, read James Patterson or Nicolas Sparks, watch House MD. Wow, I guess I really know how to relax! I never really thought about it in detail like this...
I recommend taking long naps whenever possible.

when i can't relax, i force myself to exercise...go for a long walk or a short jog and then take a hot bath afterwards with some instrumental music, light up some candles...after that i will pick up a motivational book and only read positive thoughts. then i shut the lights out.

Writing a guide for personal change, fullment and discovery for children with dead beat parents. If you as a parent, or the child have a story to share, would love to include it.
