Time4Learning Helped us During Katrina
Hurricane Katrina struck the morning of August 29, 2005 and destroyed our home, and my workplace. My life was completely uprooted and I didn’t know where to turn. At the time, I was homeschooling my son, and my daughter went to a local, private institution.

Within a matter of a day...we went from just starting a new school year, as I had bought new uniforms for my daughter to not knowing what was to come next. Katrina strikes on that Monday morning...

We could not, of course, return to New Orleans for safety reasons. It was not until several weeks later that we were able to re-enter the city. Contacting my daughter’s school was impossible...90% of the teachers were scattered around the nation. Some who did come back only to find they had no home live in. Trailors were set up in the parking lot of my daughter’s school for the teachers who wanted to try to re-start the school year.

After much prayer, I decided to homeschool my daughter. Things were so chaotic, and she was shaken by the ordeal of losing her friends, her school and any resemblance of normalcy as nothing was the same in New Orleans.

A few weeks after the shock wore off, we started looking at various homeschooling programs. Most were too expensive, and not what I thought our daughter would thrive on academically. After much searching, we found the Time4Learning site! It gave us a renewed hope that we could homeschool our children in this time of turmoil, and actually do it well!

Time4Learning made everything we went through a little easier to handle, as the grading was automatically done and filed through the system, the lessons were interactive and fun, and the price was right. We’ve been with Time4Learning ever since. Try lesson demos and see for yourself!
