I guess it is in some way like donating blood. I'm sure they do exist although I've never seen one advertised or met one in person!

I guess I am being much too serious once again...

... in my mother's generation (and before) it was just like that: at the hospital, they made her pump milk for other babies whose mothers were unable to feed their baby. They did not tell her that by pumping more, she would also produce more though (women were not very informed about things of the body in the 60s and before). Basically that forced her to always pump more more more...until they reduced the demand and the production also went down slowly.
But at least she saved some lives that way.
In some countries this is of course still normal practice, but not in countries where infant formula is available and people can afford it (at least more easily than a wet nurse).

Did you know that some women (usually who breastfed a baby in the past) actually leak milk when they see babies suckling ! It's a psychological trigger. Hormones.

and I have something else:

[Though it is not widely known in developed countries, a woman who has never been pregnant may produce milk.]

Ya I heard about the leakage but I didn't know that a woman who's never been pregnated before was able to produce the milk.. interesting.

I think they discourage milk sharing for the purpose of disease and infectious control. We just never know..

I did know that anybody (with the right glands/ducts) can produce milk. I have friends who had to have their children through a surrogate and after explaining this to her she did some research and did consider it. They ended up having triplets so, the opted for bottles!

That's a really cool story, Red.

That reminds me of something else that has happened to me. I was is Fleet Farm one day shopping, and a few rows over I heard a newborn cry. You know how brand new babies have a different cry that is really distinguishable?

Anyone that's nursed know the feeling when your milk comes down, it's a sharp pain. Even though I hadn't nursed in a few years, the sound of the baby's cry made me have a physicial reaction..

Baby fever...

AND, I bought a "Modern Bride" magazine yesterday.. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Ahhh, good old let down, isn't that what it is called? I never felt it as painful but definitely a sensation of sorts.

Isn't it wonderful when you find somebody seemingly as freaky as yourself! I know I do! (I'm a freak and proud of it so that is meant as a compliment)

The mystery is solved! I now know my rater!

LOL! Leaking beast years later...big boobs then flappy little boobs....wet nurse! It sounds stressfull LOL! Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

I do like the idea of having big breast for little while! I'm still going w/ the breast feeding. Leftover your right it's great but keep it covered up when in a public.

I think my mom is just very modest and the thought of me flopping a boob out to feed the baby kinda freaks her out. I was adopted and bottle feed also born in 1977 so breast feeding was not an opiton for her. She funny w/things like this. Her modo keep all body parts covered at all times!L She means well I guess.

Anyways thanks for the advice and laughs. wish me luck I don't get boobs that dangle just above my knees and sore nipples. LOL

Really, too SEE anything, people would really have to STARE. I mean, once baby is docked on, and you let your shirt fall back down (I would actually wear both a T shirt and a button short above, to make it really discreet...well, once the docking operation is done (OK, that can take a while in the beginning, but you can choose to feed baby in public only once you're good at it)..there is just NOTHING to see if you don't really stare on purpose. People show much more of their bodies purposely these days....I am thinking of these dropping pants, and free bellies, and whatnot.

and regarding the size before, during and after. There is no reason whatsoever why you can't look (almost) like before. Just make sure you gain and loose your weight steadily and moderately. Besides, in my experience breastfeeding also helps loosing the weight. Once baby was weaned, I lost the last 10 pounds in a few weeks without doing anything at all...and have been a few pounds below the original weight since then (the extra work and the age I guess LOL).

I really want to encourage you, as you can see.

Breastfeeding makes for physically and psychologically healthier babies and later people..and tired mothers, true, but hey, it's 10000000000000 times worth it.

Dew you have a point about the grils showing so much more today. Of course those barely dressed gals are the frist ones to say OMG her boob is haning out and here they are w/both of them busting out of their tanktop w/bellies haning over thier pants! LOL Big Grin Big Grin Roll Eyes

I'm going to go for it. I want to try and if it fits me then I'll stick w/it.
