I plan on breastfeeding, but haven't been able to get into classes for it through my hospital (they fill up too fast for me to get in!). I've been wondering if anyone has had any experience with LaLeche League, and if they administer classes.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

That's great that you're breastfeeding! I'm planning on doing it w/this baby when it's born. I'm suprised that the classes filled up so fast. I have a friend that works in pedatrics unit so she was able to call me from work and I am going to a class in November for infromational and then she is going to get more info on the league.

I found the most valuable info I founds just from friends here and friends outside of here. I have a post in here as well if you read it you will find some good info on it. A few good ones to chat w/here about are on my post. I can't remember what's titled but it's the one w/SPIRIT27 - that's me. These woman were helpful. They are willing to offer any help they can. I also searced the net and asked my doctor for info.

Good Luck

SPIRIT

To be honest I wouldn't worry about it.
All you really need is a few tips from a lactation consultant (or a nurse !) at the hospital, and then a phone number to call her if there are any questions once you're at home.
Or a book.
It's not a science.
The only problem, in comparison to the old days, is that you can't ask your Mom/Grandma/Aunt etc..because so many don't do it any more. That support was of course immensely valuable.

Thanks for the info.

I'm going to look for that post now.

I've been reading a lot, but I'm one of those people that learn best from seeing and discussing. I want to be as prepared as I can. However, Dew, your insight is definitely appreciated. Smiler (btw, I love your avatar/user pic. How precious!)
