I am New to SFV |
I've got a really strange situation going on. My husband passed away this past June, and I've been going back to my home town to reconnect with people I knew before I got married. One of these people was a guy I was serious about before I got married. I'm becoming infatuated with him, and he's talked to me a lot on the phone, but when I get to town he's really agitated and uptight but tries to see me. I'm not interested in dating right now, and I've made that known to him, its just too soon for me. I need time to be my own person, but I really like him as a friend. I would really be sad not to talk to him anymore, but I don't want him to be uncomfortable. Any suggestions?

On the Board |
I'm brand new to this board, but the reason I read this post was because after I separated from my husband, I re-connected with someone from my past. In the past it wasn't a real serious thing, but 10 yrs later, and much experience and different lives, we became so much more attached to each other and have now been committed to each other for a yr. Obviously your situation is much different, and I'm sorry for the loss of your husband, but it's good to have a companion. I'm sure your husband would want you happy somehow someway. And you never know what the future will bring, maybe just keeping his companionship and friendship for a while might turn into something more, or you might just realize that it was good while it lasted, but it's not what you want. Either way.....best of luck.

"Moderator Proud father/grandfather" SFV JUNKIE!!! |
Well here's a post that slipped by the masses, sorry mygalsal that this wasn't replied to sooner.
I'm with Tessmit here and wondering why the agitation.....is it because he is wanting to date you and you are taking your time? If so....keep taking your time until you are ready and if he can't understand that then perhaps he's not right for you anyway. I just mean he should be understanding of what emotions you are going through. Again, sorry such late advice..... |
