Okay, so I am asking this question because it seems likely that maybe someone might understand what I'm asking and I am looking for a serious opinion. Smiler Which I know you will give me if asked cause you are just that good. Wink

Question: Do you think it's possible to having feelings for someone when you have never met them in person?

You are probably thinking: what brought about this question? Well, I do want to explain. It would seem that I am not holding up my walls as well as I thought and I am letting some feelings get in the way of some things and it's bugging the heck out of me. I really need to know if I am crazy or if this can really happen? How can you develop feelings for someone when you have never spent time in person with them!?!? Seems odd I know but I'm just curious as to what your thoughts are on this matter. Have you ever experienced this?

Okay so it's more than one question but I'm just looking for other opinions.

I have never really experienced this for myself, but a friend of mine has. she met her husband online, and before they met in person, they already fell in love. The guy then came to the Phils just to marry her and take her to the US... now they're happily married for five years. Smiler

My guess is, it depends on your love language (to my knowledge, there are five: physical touch, quality time, receiving gifts, words of affirmation and acts of service). If your love language is "quality time" or "words of affirmation" then you can definitely fall for someone even though you havent met them. All you have to do is communicate regularly, even though it is only through phone or online.

As for me, my primary love language is "acts of service" and "physical touch" -- that's why I know for sure that I cannot survive a long-distance relationship because I'm a bit high-maintenance LOL Big Grin

I think I would be okay with a long-distance relationship for a while per your "five things" which by the way I have never heard before but after a while that would not be enough.

I guess I'm just looking to validate what I feel as I do NOT want feelings dang it! lol

Dawn, I see you've read "The Five Love Languages" ...an AWESOME book!! Mine is also "Act of service" ...but like most men its also Physical Touch. Razzer

I've GIVEN that book to more people that I can that can think of...mostly as a Wedding Gift. Smiler

And in answer to Sarah's question, YES....you can. I happens every few minutes across this country.... And as it has happened to myself in that past, I do know personally that it is possible.

Wow...let see how y'all respond to that bit of info? (no, not offering additional details). Razzer

I'm a man of many mysteries and sides....SO many I'm practically round!!

Yeah, most of the men I know have "Physical Touch" as their primary (if not secondary) love language. There a reason for this? Confused

I havent really read the book, but we studied it in our cell group back in college. Back then... my primary love language was words of affirmation, then as I grew older, it became acts of service. I dont know why... maybe, it's part of my realizations that words (particularly from men) can only be rhetoric, its really their actions that count Smiler
