I know it sounds like well an off question but how many of you have been on a true date?

To be honest, not me! I have NEVER EVER, EVER, been on a date! I dont know what its like to be sick of the same old dating scene....cause well it would be new to me!

How about you, ever been on one?

How would you classify a date as a "true date"? Is there anything as a "false date"? LOL

I have. I have been on 2 real dates. The rest of the time it just seemed like I was hanging out with a guy and friends first and then it wasn't really a date as much of just going where ever and doing whatever. Last year I went on a "real" date. The army guy I was dating met me at the mall, we walked around arm in arm, hand in hand shopping talking and getting to know one another. Then we headed to TGIF (Thank Goodness It's Friday) for dinner, had a lovely meal, lots of laughing and good memories, then we left there for Barnes and Noble. Walked around looked at books, showed each other our favorite authors, had a good time. Left there and headed for the movies, the movie was really bad and long but we managed to have fun. Ended up talking at a park for hours and then back at the mall parking lot for some goodbye kisses. Smiler Best date I ever had. Smiler

yeah...

there are "friendly dates"
and there are "romantic dates"
and there are "hot dates"

Just by the adjectives you know what kind of date you're on. LOL

I've been sticking to the friendly dates - and I'm lucky to have some wonderful female friends. Haven't been on a 'true' date in 11 years, when I was courting (do people still use that word) my ex. Would define 'true' as being with someone you are romantically interested in (not just ***) and who you think you might be interested in knowing better & having an actual relationship with. I keep avoiding the women who fall into that category for me - not sure if it's just being scared, not ready, life is pretty crazy& unsettled now, or what (probably a combination).

come on... if a relationship fails, it is the men are more accountable because they're the ones who should be "leading" in the relationship, while we women are created to respond. I know the men may have some violent reaction to this but I still am a believer in old fashioned gender roles. I remember a guy friend of mine tell me that we women put too much responsibility on them, LOL. Big Grin

I've been on 3 dates since my separation. I had such a fantastic time even though they were the typical things everyone complains about. I've been homebound for so long (working my *** off) that a dinner and movie was like a trip to Disney for a 6 year old.

The best part was just walking around afterwards and just talking and talking for hours. We kept on walking and talking through the rain. We didn't even care it was raining.

However, I felt like it was just a waste of time for my children. Finding someone to watch them and them not wanting to leave me.

I'm more of a casual guy that would rather go to see a local band play. So I don't really know what to do on a date.

I have been on a few- but nothing to ever write home about. Its always just been dinner- not even a movie included!

For once, I want a real thought out date- something that shows that the guy really put some effort into how he wants to spend his time with me...a girl can dream! Smiler

I'm probably a lousy date Smiler. I just like being spontaneous, being myself and having fun. I'm not so good at putting on a show. I'm a WSYWIG guy.

BTW, beautiful eyes PinkCarnation.
