Hi everyone, My name is Lisa and I am 5 weeks pregnant with my first child. It was completely unplanned and the father wants nothing to do with either of us. He wants me to never even tell our child his name. Ofcoarse, I don't ever do what a man tells me, so he is SOL...lol

I am on my own, and I am okay with that but I didn't want to stop dating just because I am pregnant. So, I threw myself on Match.com, made my myspace public and I have been completely upfront about my situation. I have had some really surprising response. Some men just want to tell me that they admire my strength, some are interested in getting to know me, despite the soon-to-be big belly )!

I think if you are pregnant and single, you should absolutely NOT be afraid to put yourself out there. Make it clear that you are totally comfortable being a single mom, but why does life and dating have to stop just because of it?

My advice is to go out and have fun, but learn to live on your own. Then think about a relationship.

Also you need time to get over your last relationship before you can really know that the person you are with is who you want to be with long term.

Welcome Lisa! You are more brave than I. I am ready to date but I think I'll just wait until after this baby is born. I just don't want to risk getting "hurt" right now. Maybe I'm just to chicken to put myself out there. But good for you!!
